The mods on the Hound make status chance and attack speed irrelevant, so more damage types for status procs and added base damage for improved Slash procs are the main goal.

Any Primed Smite mod will likely be more effective against a specific faction than [Spoiled Strike], though it'll need a forma to slot.
If you have (Primed) [Pack Leader] on your Hound, you can remove [Healing Return] for more damage. A Primed Smite mod is the best, but [True Steel] seems to be the best that applies to all factions if you're lazy like me.

At the cost of some Forma you can max the damage of the elemental mods, though this isn't a major damage or status boost since the statuses mainly come from [Manifold Bond]'s guaranteed status procs and the damage mainly comes from the Slash procs (which aren't affected by physical or elemental mods). [Healing Return] can also be maxed for a Forma.
