First Slash+Viral worked better, now I found something more fun

So one thing that I was testing together with base damage mods that increases the status chance for that damage type was using range mods, some weapons really underperformed with just the base range, and since technically for the way I build viral melee weapons theres a "free slot", basically something I can try things out, and my theory with range mods is basically more DPS through the weapon hitting more enemies, and even with the lower chance for slash this weapon just melts anything, I felt it perform slightly lower than with using buzzkill in the place of primed reach but this was more fun to use.

Mod Choices

  • Condition Overload is an abuse with this weapon regardless of what you think, even with the incarnon, +400% damage is a lot of damage!
  • Combo mods as, well, let's be honest, it's just not worth not running melee weapons without combo mods, so having those helps by quite a lot.
  • Slash status effects do damage directly to health and viral status effects increase the damage to health up to +325%
  • Heat from the projectiles helps with reducing the enemy damage reduction since the heat status effects reduce their amor by 50% so you end up doing more damage because of that.

Evolutions

  1. This one helps with getting the combo up, that way you get it stacked much faster, but you need to hold F or have only the melee weapon to make this to work!
  • Evolution II - Swordman's Flourish
    Increase Damage by +30
    With melee Weapon Equipped: +100% Combo Count Chance
  1. For me this one is better since having the extra range helps in getting the airborne enemies and together with the recent changes it made things more fun.
  • Evolution III - Orokin [Reach]
    +0.8 Range
  1. You have some extra status stacking and do more crit damage, this felt the fastest when killing enemies.
  • Evolution IV - Subtle Force
    Increase Critical Chance by +6%
    Increase Status Chance by +10%

Extras

I honestly don't know what to put as the arcane, Melee Duplicate get's outclassed almost instantly with this combo, while before it would always crit yellow, so maybe Melee Fortification could help, Melee Exposure seems cool but I don't end up in a situation that I'm always casting skills.

And if you got an warframe with the critical melee damage archon shards I would replace [Organ Shatter] with [Galvanized Steel], trying to stack any weapon without the critical damage is horrible.
