Why Do We Use?

Encumber - This is basically mandatory on the Kohmak, there are just too many upsides to consider anything else.

Not only do we generate Viral, but also Corrosive, Radiation, Magnetic, Gas, Blast, Etc.

When we combine Encumber with GS, we end up with a potential 1560% base damage increase.

In order to calculate how long it will take for Encumber to generate all 13 of its unique status effects, we can use formula below;

  • First line calculates Harmonic Series, basically saying, “To what power must e be raised to equal x

  • Second multiplies estimated Harmonic Series with number of probabilities (13)
    |
    *This says how many total encumber generated instances needed to generate all 13 effects, which is around 42 times. (This result is constant for ALL secondaries)

  • Third calculates how many Encumber Status we generate per second

  • Fourth divides them which tells us how long it takes to generate all 13 status, which happens to be 1.09 seconds

  • You can reverse fourth equation and multiply by status effect duration in seconds to find out how many procs you will average before stacks begin to decay. For Viral this happens to be 5.5 stacks

Some additional things to note, only one encumber effect can be generated per instance of time, that means even if your punch through travels through multiple enemies, only 1 enemy can activate Encumber per tick of damage ( this is so AOE status effects like gas and electric aren't obscenely broken )

However, the opposite is also true, it one damage instance does NOT activate encumber, the additional enemies that overpenetrated projectiles hit have an additional chance until one hits.

This means that Encumber has a hard cap, and in a Vacuum, will Reach its cap of generating 13 unique status effects in exactly one second This value can ONLY be exceeded with Fire Rate.

Multishot, Status Chance above 100, AOE, and Punch Through do NOT count.

[Pistol Elementalist] is a Multiplicative status damage increase separate from Expel and applies to Elemental Damage.

We are using crit mods in place of Viral because we are averaging 5 procs already thru Encumber alone, and there are 10x more external sources of Viral than there are Crit.

With 5 puncture this totals to 56.6% cc for 2.6x average damage. (Not including cold)
