Valkyr Prime: Discantus - Infinite Hysteria for Endless Disruption (ft. guide)

TL;DR

  • Very simple adaptation of my daily driver build, https://overframe.gg/build/122440/, for endurance Disruption.
  • Same playstyle: stay in perma-Hysteria with Warcry active constantly; use Talons for DPS and strip on 3.
  • Same build, accordingly - high duration, efficiency, and strength; low range. Low range still works fine because I'm using a cheap strip and I also generally only needed it for the heavy targets, like demos and certain eximuses, even at level cap. Higher range is nice if you prefer it, though.
  • Important to use Condition Overload on Talons and an external primer - I use Epitaph.

Notes

NOTE: Seeking Shuriken is not the optimal or most efficient armor strip here - just what I personally enjoy for flavor! Tharros Strike makes for better performance.

NOTE 2: See here for the accompanying Talons build: https://overframe.gg/build/560639/

Strategy

This is straightforward: pop Hysteria, pop Warcry, kill mobs, and when you're ready, prime your main target, armor strip them with your subsumed 3rd, and swipe away with a slide attack. If done right, with a good primer, this will one-shot demolishers all the way to level cap (tested chiefly on Grineer demolishers on Steel Path, solo). Make sure you have Condition Overload on Talons and that you bring an elemental type that suits your damage vs. armor-stripped enemies of the faction you're facing (viral for Grineer, toxin for Corpus, etc.)!

[Epitaph] is a super convenient primer (do your usual viral heat shenanigans or whatever you like), but any primer that you like and that works for you is totally fine as well. I also have triple Gladiator mods on my main melee for the sake of the Gladiator set's critical chance bonus on Talons - you can build this up via combo gained directly on [Talons], ignoring your main melee completely in actual gameplay, and you can make it convenient to upkeep without having to constantly punch things if you use Dexterity gun arcanes and/or Naramon. I personally brought Vazarin as a cover-my-ass if I fuck up and enter a nullifying bubble (like the demolishers' pulses) or if I want to be extra secure while priming (though [Epitaph] only takes one or two shots to sufficiently prime, which works well with shieldgating) or what have you. Madurai is nice for a little damage spike each time you go in for the kill, and of course Unairu can cover your armor strip if you'd rather fit something else on for a subsume. It's up to you! The only thing I don't recommend is Zenurik because you usually don't want to hang around outside Hysteria for long with this build.

Stats breakdown

This pretty much mirrors my standard perma-Hysteria build and for good reason - it essentially IS just standard perma-Hysteria with a full strip and primer-friendly Talons. Click the link if you want to know what the general approach here is for perma-Hysteria.

The big change here from a general-use perma-Hysteria loadout, to clarify, is just putting [Condition Overload] on [Talons] (since this is meant to maximize as much damage as possible on your main target and assumes the use of a primer weapon). This has pretty much identical modding to a general-use build on your Valkyr herself - i.e., minimizes Hysteria's drain, boosts Warcry's uptime, and includes armor strip and enough power strength to conveniently one-cast with it.

If you don't use Seeking Shuriken as I chose to, this frees up a slot for you to put in whatever you like - more strength, more duration, whatever; go nuts! This would be your slot for Equilibrium if you prefer that to Arcane Energize (or want a less pricey option for energy economy) - keep in mind, [Equilibrium] has recently been buffed to pick up energy via health orbs even if your health bar is full, so that's AMAZING for builds like this. For your arcanes, Arcane Strike and [Fury] are both options in place of either of the two I use.

Worth noting that in actual use, I tend to leave on Archon Continuity in place of Primed continuity since, when I'm using the Corpus-based toxin variant of my Talons, this gives me free corrosive procs occasionally. It's not a huge difference and you don't need to use this - will not make or break the build!

Where can (or should) I use this build?

This is basically meant for disruption endurance. You could use it for survival if you wanted to, but personally I'd get tired of constantly priming the mobs over and over. That said, use it wherever you see fit!
