Alternate fire on this reengineered Plinx fires a projectile that pulls enemies close and then explodes. Its cooldown increases after the explosion to accommodate battery power demands.

This is a HYBRID [Plinx] designed for comfortable use of BOTH firing modes.

Plinx Mechanics -

Alternate Fire charges up a shot in 0.8 seconds to discharge an explosive that embeds, knocks down and pulls in enemies within 6 meters before exploding after a 0.8 second imbed delay, dealing damage and Ragdolling enemies.

  • This imbed delay before anything happens can be bypassed if projectile can OHK the target.

Explosion does not need direct line of sight to deal damage and will penetrate walls.

Alternate Fire only consumes a full magazine and must fully recharge for every shot.

Damage is multiplied by battery size. Damage bonus is multiplicative to other damage buffs.

Normal reloads have a 0.8 second reload delay and regens 20 rounds per second, however, alt fire has an lengthened delay of 2 seconds after using the alternate fire.

Alternate fire does not benefit from Synth Charge, and is unaffected by punch through.

Why do we use?

Acuity? -- [Plinx] has a slow rof and it cant apply status, this forces us into building raw damage. What the [Plinx] does have is good crit and good headshot multipliers, so we use this to scale instead.

Do bear in mind that this will largely be a direct hit focus build for main / alt fire (not that the aoe did anything to begin with), and most of our stats we are building for will not apply to the explosion.

Mag progen for dubuffs to ovg / shields. Most useful progen since Plinx is based heat / rad already.

PPG + PTC -- Default crit mods for weakpoint raw damage. PTC can be traded with Merciless Gunfight for more effective use in main fire mode

G Shot -- Additive to main fire but multiplicative to alt fire directs, important for damage in both modes.

Ice Storm -- For battery size and multiplicative scaling

Pestilence -- To create viral and for minor chance

PHC -- Max heat weight / damage with a primed mod. Heat is infinitely refreshable and partial strips

Deadhead -- Necessary base damage, better headshots

Why dont we use?

The [Tenet Plinx] is banned from Cannonade (surprised?) as alt fire is "Charge Mechanic"

Expel? Plinx simply cannot apply enough status to make expel worthwhile, don't bother.'

Flare? -- Cant apply heat fast enough to consistently keep itself running, there are better options

Diffusion? -- It just cant put enough bullets down range to scale anywhere with pure numbers, so we instead need to buff our individual shots as much as possible, so we run Acuity instead.
