BUILD SUMMARY

This build turns [Kullervo] into a comfortable Steel Path tank while trivializing even endgame enemies, from SP Mot’s Corrupted (level 145) to ETA Scaldra/Techrot at level 500. By stacking health, armor, and Overguard sustain, [Kullervo] becomes nearly unkillable while also reaching massive Ability Strength values.

With a full Umbral setup (Umbral Vitality, Umbral Fiber, Umbral Intensify), Kullervo reaches 3374 Health and 1820 Armor (post-update 34). Adding Health Conversion pushes his armor as high as 3170, granting roughly 91.3% damage reduction when stacked.

These values synergize with:

  • Arcane Bellicose → 6% Ability Strength per 250 Health. At 3,374+ HP, Kullervo gains the full +72% Strength bonus.

  • Arcane Battery → Energy scaling from armor. With 1820 Armor baseline, [Kullervo] starts missions with 721 Energy, scaling up to 1126 without needing Primed Flow.

With triple Umbrals + [Power Drift], [Kullervo] sits at 177% → 192% Ability Strength before buffs. Arcane Bellicose boosts this to 264% Strength total without using Corrupted Mods. At 264% Strength, this will yield:

  • 26,200 Overguard from his 2.

  • 100% damage redirection from his 3.

  • +528% Crit Chance with his 1 (Wraithful Advance).

KEY MODS

  • Steel Charge (Aura) → Necessary for the extra mod capacity and naturally works with Kullervo's melee-heavy playstyle.

  • Triple Umbrals (for the set bonus)

  • Power Drift → bonus strength.

  • Health Conversion → Extra armor and fallback survivability if his Overguard gets nuked or nullified.

  • Volatile Recompense → Essential. Converts his 2 into a duration-based ability, letting him constantly refresh Overguard gating and making him functionally unkillable.

  • Primed Continuity → Extends the uptime on both his 1 (crit buff), 2 (Overguard), 3 (Curse duration), and subsumed 4 (health/orb drops).

  • Stretch/Archon Stretch → Expands the range for his 1, 2, and 3. Archon Stretch is especially strong with an electric companion (Hound or Diriga) for the bonus steady energy regen.

  • Energy Nexus → Baseline passive energy income. Can be swapped for Equilibrium if preferred.

Ability Subsumes

Replace [Kullervo]’s 4 (largely redundant for this setup) with Lycath’s Hunt. This keeps energy and health flowing during combat, synergizing perfectly with Overguard gating.

PLAYSTYLE AND GAMEPLAY LOOP

Cast Lycath's Hunt first and start killing enemies to picking up orbs to build up your energy and [Health Conversion] stacks.

Cast Wraithful Advance and Collective Curse in tandem to maintain crit buff and nuke rooms.

Keep Volatile Recompense active to maintain Overguard gating. [Kullervo]’s 2 constantly replenishes Overguard, while his 3 guarantees damage redirecting across entire groups of enemies. In the rare cases your Overguard gets shredded or nullified, his raw HP + armor + Health Conversion stacks give you a second layer of defense until you re-cast.

With energy and health cycling through Lycath’s [Hunt] and Archon Shards, [Kullervo] should be able to always maintain uptime on all his abilities comfortably. The result is a tank that sustains himself in Steel Path while also hitting hard enough to erase enemies in seconds.

Archon Shards (2 MANDATORY, 3 OPTIONAL)

  • (Tauforged) Yellow Shard → +50% (+75%) Effectiveness on Energy Orbs (MANDATORY) - will provide an energy multiplier to whatever energy orbs you pick up from headshot kills with Lycath's Hunt.

  • (Tauforged) Purple Shard → Health pickups give +20% (+30%) Energy. Energy pickups give +20% (+30%) Health (MANDATORY) - this will be Kullervo's bread-and-butter for his energy economy by constantly replenishing his energy pool from all the health orbs dropped from melee kills with Lycath's Hunt active.

  • (Tauforged) Purple Shard → Gain +25% (+37.5%) Melee Critical Damage. When max Energy is over 500, the damage boost doubles. (OPTIONAL) - boosts Kullervo's already insane DPS/DPH due to already having well over 500 max energy with Arcane Battery.

  • (Tauforged) Blue Shard → +5 (+7.5) Health/s Regenerated (OPTIONAL) - gives [Kullervo] innate health [Regen], which can keep his health topped off from residue damage in those rare moments his Overguard is down, since Kullervo doesn't have Shields and cannot shieldgate.

  • (Tauforged) Blue Shard → +150 (+225) Armor (OPTIONAL) - Pushes [Kullervo]'s armor past the 2K mark for a starting total of 2045 Armor or 87.2% DR. Will also push his starting Max Energy to 839.
