Before all other weapons, Tenno master the Skana. This simple blade becomes immensely powerful in the hands of a master. For Tenno, it is the foundation of their fighting style and a pillar of their culture.

Beginner friendly Melee build. Meant for players who are just starting out and do not own an entire arsenal of mods at their disposal. Alot of people only play Warframe for the power fantasy and would therefore overlook many of these basics mods and the woes of the few. However, for those that play warframe for the experience like how i did all the way back during the CBT, fret not, for this build is for you.
I do recommend using an Orokin reactor if you really like the weapon and you can see yourself spamming the heck out of the weapon in the foreseeable future. Although Orokin reactors are rare in the beginning, there are numerous ways to acquire them and over time you will see yourself being able to horde them much easier either by doing tactical alerts, sorties, archon hunts, invasions, etc. or by using plat once you start to farm items that other players want and you sell them on the market for said plat.
This build can help you get started and is pretty standard across all melee weapons with minor variations. The mods found in these builds are pretty easy to farm if you play the game enough and should be able to carry you to mid game enemies that are around 50-60ish maybe more depending on the weapon. I do recommend maxing out on the mods but that would require alot of endo which would most efficiently be farmed once you complete the entire star chart and unlock Steel Path and Arbitrations. Do not worry however, eventually you will [Reach] a point where you can acquire them pesky endos.
The stance mod can be anything you like so [Crimson Dervish] is interchangeable with whatever mods you have on hand.
Of course you'd have the standard [Pressure Point] along with [True Steel] and [Organ Shatter]. These mods will be a staple to most melees in the beginning and should be in your builds before you start to acquire the legendary variants and such. If you do not wish to use an Orokin reactor on this weapon, having just these three mods will be enough but they would not get you far. These mods i would recommend maxing out as soon as possible with regards to the endo constraint i mentioned earlier.
[Fever Strike] and [North Wind] can boost your potential damage and can be interchanged with [Molten Impact] or [Shocking Touch]. If you are a beginner, you should experiment with this part and see what suits your fancy. Learn about what each combination does and how you can better make builds around those statuses. But if you are too lazy the following is a run-down of the potential combos with 2 elemental mods.
Heat + Electricity = Radiation
Heat + Toxin = Gas
Heat + Cold = Blast
Toxin + Electricity = Corrosive
Toxin + Cold = Viral
Cold + Electricity = Magnetic
Eventually you will learn their uses once you start to build primer weapons like the [Kuva Nukor] or the [Epitaph] and combo them with [Condition Overload] type of mods that deal more damage based on the number of statuses.
[Fury] [Finishing Touch] and [Melee Prowess] are there to fill mod capacity and should be replaced with other mods that you have that may suit your fancy. For example you can put your other elemental mods and create a Magnetic Viral build or whatever. The world is your oyster.
