Zariman colonists originally intended to use the Phenmor in burial rites. In Orokin society, the higher the rank, the greater number of volleys for the deceased. Its stock is carved from Phenaureus Pine, a tree designed to release seedlings only onto scorched earth. In the hands of the Void, the Phenmor becomes darkly aggressive.

Practical Phenmor Build - effective without conditionals & theorycrafting BS that fails in game

Warning: this is not a theorycraft build that doesn't work in game.

  • Does it have excessive amounts of additive damage? Absolutely.
  • Is viral "weighted too high"? You're damn right it is.
  • Is it missing faction mods? Yes. You'll forget anyway, so the slot is used for universally useful mods.

In actual missions, you don't always have the 3 headshot kills from Primary Deadhead up to get the additive damage. This leaves you severely gimped. This build gives you the additive damage whether or not you kill enemies with headshots. [Heavy Caliber] also makes it easier to get headshots, because it gives you a ton of spread. [Phenmor] is too accurate. The spread from [Heavy Caliber] gives you better room clearing ability and throws rounds all over the place.

99% of the time you aren't going to have 10 viral status procs on a mob so your perfectly weighted against slash procs kick in on seconds 1-7. This build gives you a crapload more damage without worrying about damage over time with slash weightings/[Fanged Fusillade] vs. viral. Except in rare circumstances, this makes it much faster to clear rooms full of enemies Level 1,000 and below.

50% of the time you are trying to get it Incarnon mode while your teammates have already cleared the map and are waiting for you at the end. [Vigilante Armaments] helps this by getting you into Incarnon in ~3 shots with conditionals, while dropping fire rate increases that do nothing but burn out your Incarnon mode faster.

Try it. It works better than those other pansy spreadsheet builds on steel path, and it's far superior on non-steel path.

Here are the evolutions:

Evolution II: Swift Deliverance: +80% Projectile Speed
Evolution III: Ready Retaliation: On reload from Empty: +100% Reload Speed for 6 seconds
Evolution IV: Perk 3: Elemental Excess: +20% Status Chance -10% Critical Chance
Evolution V: Devouring Attrition: 50% chance to deal 2000% damage on non-critical hits
