Revenant Prime Build | General Use

IMPORTANT

All of the builds on my profile are subject to change, since I'm constantly making additions or changes to them based on new finds and the like. On that note, I'll try my best to update these guides as I make changes.

Keep in mind that this build has shared polarities with my other [Revenant Prime] builds. Additionally, I'm using this build with Amber Archon Shards to increase Casting Speed. If you do not have any, or you don't want to use them on [Revenant], replace [Constitution] with [Natural Talent].

Intro

Being a [Revenant Prime] main, I'd like to say that I put a lot of thought into this build. However, [Revenant Prime] isn't exactly the most complex of Warframes, whether it be his playstyle or how to build him. In this guide, I'll be going over how I've built my [Revenant Prime], how that affects his playstyle, as well as some general pointers for people looking to make a good [Revenant Prime] build of their own. Strap in!

Mods

[Enemy Radar] is all around a great aura to have, but not strictly necessary. Slot in whatever you prefer here in accordance with your own playstyle. For example, if you use melee a lot, [Steel Charge] could be worth slotting in over [Corrosive Projection], and could even save you a Forma. You can also switch between [Corrosive Projection] and [Shield Disruption], depending on the type of enemy you're facing, or [Energy Siphon] to offset the negative Efficiency. You could also use [Growing Power] if you really want to stack extra strength onto this build, but I find it a little unnecessary compared to what other auras provide.

[Power Drift] is here to add a bit more Strength to this build, and for no other reason. Not strictly necessary, but very nice to have.

[Rolling Guard] is arguably the most valuable individual mod in this build. Why? Because it lets you reactivate Mesmer Skin without any risk. This is important because Mesmer Skin is your one method of survival with Revenant. Without it, he only has a few overshields and shield-gating before enemies overwhelm him.

[Umbral Intensify] is there for one reason only; more Strength. [Intensify] is also an option, but provides 14% less Strength in exchange for an overall lower cost. As a side note, it's not worth stacking [Umbral Fiber] or [Umbral Vitality] to increase the efficacy of [Umbral Intensify] compared to simply adding other mods to the build.

[Blind Rage] is there for the same reason as [Umbral Intensify]; more Strength. The drop in Efficiency is of course detrimental, but +99% strength makes it worth it.

[Transient Fortitude]... Same deal. More Strength is good. The drop in Duration is negligible, even if it wasn't offset by a mod I'll get into later.

[Thrall Pact] is an excellent augment, giving [Revenant Prime] more damage with his primary weapon, provided you can consistantly enthrall enemies.

[Primed Continuity] is here to offset the Duration loss from [Transient Fortitude], which makes your 1 and 3 a bit better to use. If you don't really care about either ability, you can slot in something else.

[Primed Flow] is here for 2 reasons; to make using Danse Macabre a little easier on you, and to offset Efficiency issues in general. This mod is also not strictly necessary, so if you'd rather have something else, go for it. I would highly recommend using this if you're ultimately going to stay at negative Efficiency with your build, however, especially if you also have Arcane Energize.

[Constitution] is here to add some more duration to the build, to give you a somewhat longer buff from Roar. Consider this your primary flex slot, however; if you prefer, you can add [Streamline] to offset the Efficiency issues a little, or [Natural Talent] if you aren't using Amber Archon Shards for Casting Speed, as mentioned earlier.

Arcanes

Like with most builds, arcanes are bonuses rather than necessities, so if you prefer something other than the two in this build, feel free to change them.

Arcane Energize is here to deal with Efficiency issues on this build. Additionally, it makes picking up energy orbs while using Danse Macabre a reliable way to keep going.

Molt Augmented is a frankly ridiculous arcane for just about any Warframe that scales well with Strength, and it's no different for [Revenant]. This adds a whopping 60% Strength to the build at max charge, which is great for longer missions.

Some alternative options would be Molt Efficiency, for if you want to lean into Enthrall or any other Duration-based ability you subsume onto [Revenant Prime]. Molt [Vigor] could also work, but is a little cumbersome to use in practice. Outside of that, whatever works well for your playstyle and loadout is probably alright, so go nuts!

Subsumed Abilities

If you want to personalize your [Revenant] a little further, you can subsume an ability and replace it with another one. For me personally, it's hard to say what you should put on [Revenant], per se. Generally, my recommendation would just be to check the rest of your kit and see if you want something that synergizes well with it.

Generally though, if you want a subsumed ability, I'd recommend something that boosts [Revenant]'s weapon damage, since that's what'll keep him going in the more difficult missions of the game. My personal recommendations would be Roar or [Xata]'s Whisper, but take your pick based on your loadout or your particular needs.

As for other options, you can grab something like Ensnare or Larva if you wanna lean more into Reave. You can also go for stuff like Spectrorage with the augment or Dispensary if you want to provide a little more support to the team. Really, anything that scales well with high Strength and isn't gimped by low Range and Efficiency is probably great, though.

Archon Shards

For this particular build, unless you're intending to swap out [Constitution] for [Natural Talent], I highly recommend using at least one Amber Archon Shard to increase Casting Speed. [Revenant Prime]'s survivability hinges solely on Mesmer Skin, so you need to be sure that you can recast it whenever it goes down, or gets close to going down, and adding some Casting Speed makes this a whole lot easier. I'd personally recommend using either 2 Amber Shards or 1 Tauforged Amber Shard, but just 1 Amber Shard should be fine if you're stingy.

Outside of that, I'd strongly recommend adding 2 or 3 Crimson Shards for added Strength - Tauforged, if possible. What can I say, [Revenant Prime] likes his Strength. Assuming you've added 3 Crimson Shards and 1 Amber Shard, you've got a flex slot where you can just do whatever you feel like. Added Parkour Speed, Energy Max, whatever you feel like adding.

Focus School

Generally, the question comes down to whether you're using Zenurik or Naramon, or if you're throwing. If you're confident that Arcane Energize will keep you going, Naramon can be great if you want to use [Revenant Prime] for melee shenanigans.

Generally though, I'd say Zenurik is the best choice, since it gives you passive energy generation and even added Strength to your casts via Hardened Wellspring. It also allows you to occasionally cast an ability without using any energy, which is very good to have when you've got 45% Efficiency.

Arsenal

This build's effectiveness doesn't really depend on any weapons in particular, but I would generally recommend making good use of Mesmer Skin granting you Status Immunity by putting a launcher or two on him. Take your pick of your personal favorites here.

As for melee weaponry, whatever suits your fancy is totally fine, but I'd recommend once again making use of Mesmer Skin granting you Status Immunity (and invulnerability) by using a weapon with a Heavy Attack build. This could be his signature [Tatsu Prime], or once again just your personal favorite, or whatever you happen to have left over in your inventory.

Playstyle

Playing [Revenant] with this build is pretty straightforward: Use Xata's Whisper to improve your weapon damage immensely, use Mesmer Skin to not die, use Reave to do some wacky %-damage shenanigans and to move around quickly, and use Danse Macabre to clear off mobs for a bit if you're getting swarmed.

Additionally, this build is not spin-to-win. Danse Macabre falls off quite significantly at higher levels, so there's no reason to build for it with maxed Efficiency or anything.

Final Notes

Some important things to note:

  • Make sure to keep your energy topped off through so you can always use your abilities. This build includes Arcane Energize, but you can always use Zenurik's Energizing Dash or Energy Pads as well or instead of Energize, depending on what you prefer.
  • When you want/need to replenish your Mesmer Skin, roll to make use of [Rolling Guard], then use Mesmer Skin to safely avoid damage. Shield gating may keep you safe in most situations, but you never know when a stray Toxin Eximus comes running at your 300-Health ass at 120MpH, so stay safe!
  • Try to stay clear of nullifiers, since touching their bubble will remove your Mesmer Skin, leaving you vulnerable to damage. To deal with nullifiers, either aim for and kill the drone circling the bubble, or use a high fire rate weapon to destroy it.

And that's all! Hope this all helps. If you want to see other builds for [Revenant] that don't inexplicably add [Umbral Vitality], check out my profile!
