This is a Quick-fire Build

The [Mutalist Cernos] toxin base damage mixes with elemental mods uniquely. With just one elemental mod you can get the following:
cold = viral, cold, toxin
heat = gas, heat, toxin
electric = corrosive, electric, toxin
(never mix in a toxin mod - explained further below)

Add hunter munitions and you have a weapon that stacks Galvanized Aptitude very well. The aoe clouds counts as on-hit for Split Flights. Reload speed is great for quick-shot builds (and we ignore the negative from [Critical Delay]). I personally like modding in heat or electric, but cold works pretty well for the viral+bleeds.

NOTE:
This is an old weapon that works differently from other weapons with an innate element - the toxin innate damage behaves DIFFERENTLY. You cannot mod a combination element that contains toxin as it will actually lower your overall damage (the elemental mod will just scale off the toxin stat, rather than total damage (i.e ips + toxin) ).

You will have to do the one of the following:

• use only one elemental mod that is not toxin (you will get gas/heat/toxin , viral/cold/toxin, or corrosive,electric,toxin )
• use a combination element excluding toxins (magnetic, blast, radiation) - probably not ideal here
