Fox's Khora Prime

Associated Build:
Venari Prime

Khora Prime is an extremely powerful crowd control frame that can be geared for both content nuke and defense / utility gameplay. She can have some of the highest ability damage in the game or have some of the best looting capabilities.

Mods:
High duration and extremely high range. [Khora Prime] does not need a lot of ability strength since she gets most of her damage for Whipclaw from [Steel Charge], combo count, melee mods, and [Accumulating Whipclaw].

Strategy:
Offensive: Use Ensnare to bind up an enemy and draw them into each other, then use Whipclaw to slaughter them. Rinse repeat.
Defensive: Cast Strangledome on target of interest such as a defense target and kill enemies who get pulled in. Prioritize killing enemies who are immune to controlling effects.

Defense:
Use controlling effects such as Ensnare or Strangledome (strategy dependent) to avoid taking damage from trash mobs and prioritize eliminating elites who are immune to controlling effects. Use [Venari Prime]'s heal on yourself or your defense target to [Recuperate] lost HP.

Whipclaw + [Accumulating Whipclaw]:
[Khora Prime]'s main damage skill, in which she extends a whip to strike an enemy up to a certain distance, releasing an small explosion from the enemy struck, which both scale with ability range. Whipclaw deals pure physical damage (even split of all three physical sources) and is a pseudo-exalted weapon, meaning it derives its stats from [Khora Prime]'s melee weapon mods and scales its damage with combo count. The weapon gains +25% damage per multiplier in the combo count with the counter increasing for each enemy caught in the explosion's radius. With [Accumulating Whipclaw], hitting three or more enemies with Whipclaw grants a +35% damage increase to the ability, stacking up to a maximum of 10 times for a maximum of +350% and beginning to decay after ten seconds. This is easily achieved with Ensnare clumping groups of enemies together. With all these damage buffs working together, [Khora] can easily wipe out most Steel Path content without a sweat.

Ensnare:
[Khora Prime] binds an enemy, putting them in a frozen state. After a short delay, all other enemies that are not immune to controlling effects in a radius around the affected enemy are ensnared for 75% of the duration of the initial enemy and are dragged to their location. All ensnared enemies take double damage from Whipclaw and striking the crowd with Whipclaw refreshes the effect to draw in more enemies. This is the other half of [Khora Prime]'s offensive bread and butter. This allows her Whipclaw to truly shine thanks to its crowd controlling and enemy clumping effects, as well as doubling its damage. At 2.4x range, Ensnare draws in enemies in a 24 meter radius around the target, and at 1.8x duration the delay before the follow-up snare occurs is less than 1 second.

[Venari] (Passive):
[Venari Prime] is both [Khora Prime]'s passive and third ability. [Venari Prime] is a pet companion that accompanies [Khora Prime], capable of being modded like a pet and having similar behavior but able to use abilities and be controlled by [Khora Prime]'s [Venari] ability. While she is alive she grants her master a movement speed bonus. If killed, she will resurrect after 45 seconds or can be respawned immediately for 50 energy, scaled with efficiency. She has three stances which may be freely cycled; attack, [Protect], and heal. Attack stance allows her to perform a [Rush] attack on an enemy that puts them in a miniature version of Ensnare, immobilizing them and dealing five powerful hits of slash damage with guaranteed status. [Protect] allows her to attack an enemy with a tail whip, knocking them to the ground and disarming them. Heal allows her to create an aura with a 10 meter radius around her that heals allies overtime. Attack and [Protect] targets are selected at random and heal will automatically activate if any party member's HP drops below 90% and will focus on the party member with the lowest percentage of current HP relative to their max. [Khora Prime] may manually select a target for any of these three abilities for the cost of 25 energy, scaled with efficiency. Both attack and [Protect]'s special abilities have 3 second cooldowns, but may have their cooldowns bypassed by manual casting. [Khora Prime] may also select herself or a defense target to receive healing from [Venari Prime].
All that said, the smartest option 90% of the time is to just set her to heal mode and set her to heal either you or your defense target.

Strangledome + [Pilfering Strangledome]:
[Khora Prime] creates up to 2 cages of wires which snare enemies who can be affected by controlling effects and drags them into an unoccupied vertex of the dome, dealing damage over time in pure physical damage. When a vertex is emptied by killing an enemy, another enemy may be captured to take their place. Both the size of the dome and the capture radius are affected by ability range. All captured enemies take 2x damage from all damage sources besides Whipclaw and are tagged as "priority threat," causing uncaptured enemies to fire on them. Enemies attacked by Whipclaw while captured by the dome will spread 50% of the damage dealt to all other trapped enemies. This is not quite as useful as it seems in practical application due to enemies being too spread out to effectively increase the combo counter or increase stacks of [Accumulating Whipclaw]. When using the augment [Pilfering Strangledome], all enemies captured by the dome have a 65% loot reroll effect upon death. This ability is the other side of the [Khora Prime] coin, building more for her defensive side rather than her offensive. Great for any mission type involving a defense target.

Arcanes:
1) Arcane Energize helps support her ability spam.
2) Arcane Guardian gives her some much-needed armor when her shield gate pops so she isn't ripped to pieces.

Alternative Build:

This is a [Pilfering Strangledome] build. Not much different from the Whipclaw side of things but has her [Venari] ability replaced with [Protea]'s Dispensary to provide bonus utility for stationary fights. Very great for playing goalie on the Index.

To turn a phrase, [Khora Prime] truly is a beast in the crowd control department. Whether taking the fight to the enemy with Whipclaw, or guarding a target with Strangledome, she is always a valuable addition to her team. Have fun and [Hunt] them down!
