Zap Cannon || Ambassador (ragdoll-focused build)

If you came here from my Tidal [Reflection] || Spectrorage [Yareli] build, you're probably looking for that explanation of why this gun is so powerful with her Riptide. Then allow me to explain.

First and foremost, this build is designed with the alt fire in mind. One major factor was Status Chance -- with [High Voltage], [Hammer Shot], and [Galvanized Aptitude], we breach the desired 100%, meaning guaranteed Electric procs as there is no other element. More on why this is needed later.

[Ambassador]'s alt fire is a hitscan AoE. Unlike projectiles, which have travel time, hitscans instantly detect a target for damage, as well as Status proc chance rolls. When an enemy is caught in Riptide, they become ragdolled. In this state, due to the misfit mechanics of this game, every limb will count as a target for the hitscan AoE when rolling for Status procs (but not damage). This applies to various other abilities as well, such as Coil Horizon, Sentient Wrath, etc.

So why is this important? Remember that if a weapon has 100%+ Status Chance, and one element, it's guaranteed to proc that element. So this means every shot from [Ambassador] will create an Electric proc on the target. But it's also an AoE, remember? That means that all the enemies inside the explosion, and all of their limbs, will also account for the Status proc rolls. One shot can lead to over a half dozen Status procs on a single target, and that's without adding Multishot!

The biggest detail to all this is the type of proc we're inflicting -- Electric. Electric procs have a 3m AoE on them; nearby enemies also take damage. So with Riptide (or whatever ability you're using), 100%+ Status Chance, and a well-aimed shot, Ambassador will absolutely devastate the bundle of ragdolled enemies.

Another point I wish to clarify is on Galvanized Aptitude -- though we're mainly using it for the status Chance, the mod will work on direct hits, but not the explosion. So you will want to make sure you get a direct hit so that whomever takes the brunt of your shot gets an even stronger proc. You can even use a primer Secondary if you'd like, especially since there's no Viral on this weapon and you'll want to outsource it from somewhere!

Primed Magazine Warp is interchangeable with Primed Fast Hands; when calculating long-term DPS, Magazine Warp wins out unless you pile an absurd amount of FR and/or RLS outside of the weapon mods. Also, be aware that the [Magazine Warp] mod is rank 9; this gives you exactly the right amount of ammo for 3 shots from the alt fire and an automatic reload. If you max the mod out, you WILL have to reload manually.
