Muzzled Wolf | Muzzle Flash Melee Voruna | Blind Eximus + Bonus Stealth Damage

This is a melee focused [Voruna] build using Shooting Gallery with [Muzzle Flash] to provide both crowd control and melee buff. [Muzzle Flash] provides 40+ seconds of passive crowd control, needing only 6 kills (from either you, your abilities or your allies) to charge up a blind that is triggered on your next attack (either melee or gun). This keeps the map perpetually stunned allowing you to run up and use melee without getting damaged. Of note, [Muzzle Flash] blind WORKS THROUGH OVERGUARD, meaning it also prevents Eximus from attacking you.

Finally, blinded enemies receive an an additional 800% STEALTH DAMAGE MULTIPLIER to all melee attacks which itself is additive to Crit Damage (giving approximately +70-80% final melee damage boost after accounting for Shroud of Dynar), in addition to the very minor damage boost of shooting gallery itself (50% additive to [Condition Overload] for <10% final boost after accounting for status effects)

How to slash taxi
This refers to using Fangs of Raksh to 'taxi' slash procs from your melee to an AOE. This requires you to proc a slash proc out of the 5 statuses on an INITIAL hit of Fangs. Proccing slash on a second hit on the same enemy does NOT count. Once you inflict another BIG slash proc (e.g from x12 heavy attack with forced slash weapon), that slash proc will then be carried by Fangs to every enemy in an appproximately 16.5m radius, provided the enemy did not die before the big slash proc could occur.

Playstyle

  1. Activate 3 and keep active (kill enemies afflicted by 5 statuses to [Extend] duration passively)
  2. Activate 4 and refresh when expires, getting kills to charge it (very easy and passive)
  3. Press 1 to go invisible and gain melee crit damage buff (need to refresh buff once roughly every 10s)
  4. Press 2 on an enemy to inflict status effects, then kill that enemy and spread status effects
  5. Repeat 1 + 2 combo on every new group of enemies

Survivability

For Endurance
Crowd control from Muzzle Flash provides the bulk of survivability by being extreme crowd control that affects everything except Acolytes/Demolysts. If you take any breakthrough damage simple tap 1 to go invisible AND completely refresh 1.33s shield gate ([Catalyzing Shields] reduces max shield to 74, and running [Brief Respite] + [Augur Reach] allows 39 energy to regenerate 74 shield). Vazarin protective dash can be a final layer of ultimate survivability in an Endurance situation where you find yourself out of energy or unable to cast abilities (e.g. against Violence).

Casual Tanking
If you prefer to health tank in casual missions, swap Arcane Strike to Arcane Blessing, Molt Augmented to Arcane [Guardian], swap [Rolling Guard] for [Adaptation], and add [Health Conversion] over [Augur Reach], but this isn't THAT recommended due to high forma cost and limitations of health tanking on a frame that can already turn invisible without innate damage reduction.

Build Specifics

Duration
Positive duration helps uptime of 1 and 3, but you don't need to go overboard as the base invisibility duration is very long and you will likely remove it immediately upon melee attacking. Furthermore, getting melee kills is able to increase the duration of both the melee buff of 1 and overall duration of 3. [Archon Continuity] is optional as 2 is able to create toxin procs which subsequently forces corrosive procs for extra [Condition Overload] damage.

Efficiency
[Voruna] is able to run negative efficiency with [Blind Rage] on a melee focused build due to Lycath's [Hunt] (3) forcing health orb drops on melee kills and equilibrium giving 55 energy per health orb. If you still struggle with energy, you can add Streamline or drop Blind Rage/augur secrets for Transient Fortitude/[Umbral Intensify].

Range
Range is needed for the [Muzzle Flash] blind radius and also helps the spread radius of Fangs of Raksh (2). [Overextended] + [Augur Reach]

Strength
Strength is mainly just to boost the melee crit damage buffs from 1, base dmg of 2 and dmg buff of shooting gallery.

Passive
You can swap between passives based on preference and mission type e.g. use parkour velocity for quick missions or to get between points faster, use status immunity when using AOE weapons or for general survivability and use heavy efficiency when using x12 melee builds. Since we subsume off 4, you will not be using 4 passive.

Aura

  • Brief Respite for shield gating
  • Growing power for more strength
  • Enemy Radar for quality of life

Exilus
Completely flexible:

  • Cunning Drift for range
  • Power Drift to help hit slow cap
  • Primed Sure Footed for knockdown immunity if you dont use 2 passive.
  • Vigilante Pursuit for radar

Arcanes
Completely optional and up to preference:

  • Augmented - boosts strength to futher boost Crit Damage buff of 1 and minor damage buff of shooting gallery
  • Strike - more melee attack speed
  • Fury - more melee damage (additive to Condition Overload and Shooting Gallery)
  • Blessing - if you prefer to tank, which also mega boosts the health of a pet running link health

HELMINTH OPTIONS

If not using Shooting Gallery, you can run with no helminth. Replace Muzzle Flash with Augur Message or Secrets.

ARSENAL

Primer
Use a primer secondary (e.g Epitaph/[Kuva Nukor]) with 2 augur mods ([Augur Pact] and [Augur Seeker]). 4 total augur mods at 45 eff let you shield gate with a single cast of 1.

Dedicated primers allow you to max viral status consistently relative to using Fangs of Raksh, and potentially add even more additional status effects if Fangs procs a different set of statuses (e.g. for total of 10-12 statuses).

Melees
Almost any good hybrid crit based melee would work, but switching to Lycath's passive gives you 100% Heavy attack efficiency (which is actually hard capped at 90%) allowing you to do x12 heavy attacks. This means the most useful melees are weapons that can force slash on heavy attack with a good multiplier. This includes nikanas (5x multiplier e.g. [Skiajati], [Nikana Prime], [Sepfahn]), scythes (6x multiplier e.g. [Hate], [Reaper Prime]), claws (5x multiplier e.g. [Venka Prime], [Keratinos]).

Otherwise, weapons with strong projectile heavy attacks work like gunblades and agendus.
