Just because you can doesn't mean you should. This build is forma intensive, and although it will overpower sub-100 content handily, it won't get you much further.

This is a status weapon, but it will go a bit further when treated as a crit weapon. This is mostly just a byproduct of it's mediocrity and the game's evolution over time. It's not really good at crit or status, but crit packs more punch. This tiny bit of crit packs more wallop and, in turn, improves the overall weapon performance.
