This Heavy Scythe echoes battles of another time. It is far more a weapon of sheer force than one of finesse.

APPLY CONDITIONALS
The [Hespar], the signature weapon of choice by Thrax Centurions, is an oversized scythe wielded with two hands. It has decent Slash capabilities, salvaged by [Carnis Mandible], so we will use the traditional COWBARF build, but with a twist.
WHAT IS COWBARF? SOUNDS LIKE A MADMAN MADE IT UP.
COWBARF is the acronym for the traditional Slash build that many melees with Slash capabilities will use to get the most out of it. COWBARF is specifically a light attack build:
C - Condition Overload. The raw damage of the build.
O - Organ Shatter. The critical damage.
W - Weeping Wounds. This mod will allow the melee in question to inflict many procs based on the Combo Counter.
B - [Blood Rush]. This will be your critical chance, surpassing Sacrificial Steel at 7x combo, and Sacrifical Steel + Pressure at 8x combo.
A - Attack Speed. Usually, this spot is occupied by Berserker Fury or Primed Fury. Hespar will instead use Quickening as explained below.
R - Range. Primed Reach is your go-to, with Spring-Loaded Blade being the backup. Reach is poop.
F - Faction Mod. This will increase your Slash procs tremendously, with a 1.69x bonus (normal Smite) or a 2.4x bonus (Primed Smite).
The final slot is flex. Typically, this spot is taken by [Carnis Mandible] (if the Slash weighting isn't the best), [Quickening] (if the bonus attack speed is wanted), or [Gladiator Might]. [Hespar] uses [Carnis Mandible] as the flex slot.
Corpus Build
Switch Carnis Mandible for Primed Fever Strike and switch Smites.
ALTERNATIVES
Primed Pressure Point - Goes over Condition Overload if you are not priming beforehand. Do note that PPP has less potential damage than CO.
Spring-Loaded Blade - If you don't have Primed Reach. Reach is not going to do much.
Normal Smite - Replaces Primed Smite if you do not have it.
WHY QUICKENING INSTEAD OF BERSERKER/[Primed Fury]?
The [Hespar] may be a fun tool to use, but it severely lacks in the combo acquisition department. [Quickening] helps to mend this wound with its bonus combo count chance.
However, because of this cut to overall Attack Speed, this specific setup is best used with Arcane Strike. If you do not have Arcane Strike, refer to this build instead: https://overframe.gg/build/314553/hespar/hespar-build/
