[Akarius] is hands down my favorite secondary weapon. I spent quite a bit of time in the simulacrum working out this build above. I have found that a mixed radiation and viral build seems to work the best.

(Important thing to note: this is a 3 forma build unless you want to include [Pistol Ammo Mutation], in which case this will require 5 forma or 4 and a slightly lower rank mutation mod)

The only real problems with this weapon are its slow reload, ammo economy Luckily, we can fix these by putting [Primed Quickdraw] and an ammo conversion mod on this weapon. If you want to swap out primed quickdraw, I would recommend putting magnum force in or a riven which has +reload.

-----Why viral + radiation over corrosive (or pure viral / pure radiation)?------

An important thing to note is that corrosive seems to straight up be worthless on the [Akarius]. A pure viral build took 5 shots to take down a level 105 corrupted bombard, whereas the mixed version above took only 3. Corrosive took the entire ammo reserves to take down one level 105 bombard.

When it comes to the corpus, once again, the mixed build does much better, resulting in a 3 shot kill on level 105 corpus techs. Even a pure radiation build resulted in the same time to kill for this weapon.

If you have a riven or want to get one for this, I would recommend any of the following things:
Heat, Toxin, Cold, Electricity, Damage, Status Chance or Multishot.

If you want to use the riven as a more quality of life thing, go for reload as well.
