Garuda - ESO Nuking

ALL MY BUILDS FOCUS ON USING UNDEAD WARFRAMES WITH WEAPONS FITTING THEIR THEMES. THEY MAY NOT BE THE ABSOLUTE BEST OPTION FOR WHAT I USE THEM, BUT I STILL MAKE SURE THEY'RE MORE THAN VIABLE ENOUGH.

INTRODUCTION

The main focus of this build is to nuke things in Elite Sanctuary Onslaught as fast as possible for focus farming. To do so we follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you invert Gauss' ability on Options -> Invert Tap/Hold Abilities (Do it on both keyboard/mouse and controller settings). That way you'll only have to Tap Thermal Sunder to do heat damage.
  2. Enter the portal to get to a new sanctuary zone.
  3. Cast Bloodletting twice to fill us your energy.
  4. Spam cast Thermal Sunder to kill everything around you, and re-cast Bloodletting to fill up your energy whenever needed.
  5. When an enemy with a bubble appears and stops your from killing a group of enemies use [Garuda Prime Talons] to quickly dispatch of it while still getting good affinity.
  6. When the timer runs out go back to point 2 and repeat.

BUILD SPECIFICS

FOCUS SCHOOL

We use Naramon for this build. The node we care most about is:

  • Affinity Spike: This gives us a bit of extra affinity when we need to kill an enemy with a bubble, to make up slightly from the loss of not casting Thermal Sunder.

ARCHON SHARDS

  • Crimson Archon Shard: This is more of a free slot. You could easily add ability strength, ability duration, or melee critical damage if you like using her claws.
  • Amber Archon Shard:
+37.5% Casting Speed x4. You're gonna be spamming abilities non-stop, so you want to be as fast as possible. Since we're not using [Natural Talent] we have a base 100% cast speed, and if we add shards we have:
At 0 Tauforged: +100% cast speed for 200% total, or 2x cast speed. Twice as fast!
At 1 Tauforged: +112.5% cast spedd for 212.5% total, or 2.12x cast speed.
At 2 Tauforged: +125% cast speed for 225% total, or 2.25x cast speed.
At 3 Tauforged: +137.5 cast speed for 237.5% total, or 2.37x cast speed.
At 4 Tauforged: +150% cast speed for 250% total, or 2.5x cast speed.
So as you can see, the increase with Tauforged shards tends to be rather slight, so don't feel bad if you don't have 5 Tauforged shards.

STATS:

  • STRENGTH: We use [Transient Fortitude], [Umbral Intensify], and Molt Augmented. We want a decent amount of strength for Thermal Sunder's damage, but that's not what we should focus on, since we'll spam casts and they'll stack and multiply each other infinitely anyway.
Our current setup also makes sure we have 100% slash procs for Seeking Talons just in case we want to combine the two.
  • DURATION: We don't use any duration mods. The only thing we care about is that our status duration on Thermal Sunder isn't too bad. At 72.5% duration our heat procs will last for 4.35 seconds, which is way more than enough, considering the timer will reset whenever we cast our ability again.
  • RANGE: We use [Cunning Drift], [Overextended], [Stretch], and [Augur Reach]. We want as much range as possible to affect as many enemies as possible with Thermal Sunder. Simple enough. The more range we have, the more enemies we can nuke. We make up for the ability strength loss from [Overextended] with Molt Augmented eventually.
  • EFFICIENCY/ENERGY: We use [Primed Flow]. At 100% efficiency we fill up 40% of our energy per cast of Bloodletting, which means 320 energy per cast which would be 6 casts of Thermal Sunder, with 20 extra energy that slowly accumulates. Because of that you don't really need any mods, arcanes, or schools that focus on energy recovery.

LOADOUT:

  • PRIMARY: We use the Trumna. This weapon has a decent fire rate when modded, so it can help pop the nullifier bubbles whenever you need it to. If you charge it up the explosion can deal with huge groups as well.
I chose this weapon thematically because it siphons life essence to charge itself, just like how a vampire would with blood.
  • SECONDARY: We use the Despair. This weapon is only here for [Augur Seeker] to give us full shield gating. There's not much of a point in using it otherwise.
I chose this weapon thematically because sharp throwing knives are the perfect way to draw out blood.
  • MELEE: We use the Prime Talons. This is the perfect weapon for [Garuda Prime], and comes with her, so why not use it? Can proc slash on heavy attack and her light attack can kill enemies quite easily, so it's the best way to kill enemies at close range if they can't die fast to Thermal Sunder.
I chose this weapon thematically because of the blood frenzy it causes, slashing and drawing blood on every strike.
  • COMPANION: We use Djinn. We mostly want a sentinel to use the Verglas. Besides killing even more enemies it also helps us pop nullifier bubbles faster due to its firerate. The reason why we use [Djinn] is because it also can revive us should we mess up on higher levels with nullifiers and eximus enemies.

GAMEPLAY ELEMENTS:

  • SHIELD GATING: We use [Brief Respite], [Augur Reach], and [Augur Seeker] on our secondary weapon. If you equip a Decaying Dragon Key your shields will get reduced to 25% of their total, which is 75 shields for [Garuda Prime]. the mods we use give us 150 + 40 + 40 = 230% of the energy we used as shields. The ability we'll use for this is Thermal Sunder, which is our most spammable ability. At 50 energy per cast it'd be 50 x 2.3 = 115, effectively filling up our shields entirely no matter what. We could use only [Brief Respite], but the other two augur mods actually help our build.
The reason why we want max shields is because of how shield gating works. when your shields are depleted you gain 1.3 seconds of invulnerability. If your shield starts regenerating and goes down again before it can fill up fully, however, the invulnerability will only last 0.3 seconds. With these mods we make sure to always fill up our shields to get max invulnerability time.
  • AUGMENT: We use [Thermal Transfer], but we could also count [Archon Vitality] as one. [Archon Vitality] is a must have, effectively doubling our heat stacks with each ability cast, which in turn increases our damage way, way faster. Thermal sunder gives us a 100% heat damage bonus while we spam cast (up to 145% when fully triggering Molt Augmented), so it'd always be active. While it's a great mod overall, it's probably the only one in this list that can be replaced.
  • SURVIVABILITY: We use Molt Reconstruct. Seeking Talons provides invincibility when cast if so needed. Bloodletting also clears status effects, so we don't really need any of the usual mods like [Primed Sure Footed] or [Rolling Guard]. Molt Reconstruct will keep healing us the more we cast our skill, so we'll always have enough health for Bloodletting. We don't really need anything else since we'd constantly be shield gating with an immense cast speed.

BONUS BUILD - 0 FORMA OPTION

So, if you want to test this build but are too worried that you won't like it and will waste forma on it, here's a 0 forma version of the build for you to test. 0 Forma builds always have compromises, but I try to make them as close to the original to give an accurrate representation when testing.

MOD CHANGES:

  • [Brief Respite] to [Steel Charge]: The polarity doesn't match Brief Respite, so we gotta replace it with anything else. Steel Charge is our only option if you want to fit all the mods in here.
  • Umbral Intensify to Augur Secrets: We don't have an umbral polarity anymore, so we gotta downgrade this mod as much as we can.
  • [Streamline] to [Primed Flow]: Since we're already getting extra mod capacity we might as well replace this for an extra cast of Thermal Sunder per energy refill.

And that's it! Besides the aura mod and changing our strength and energy-related mods all the mods are exactly the same, just in different spots since we can't change polarity positions with 0 forma. While squishier than before due to being unable to shield gate, it's still a pretty good alternative that keeps the same amount of power as the original.

BONUS BUILD - GENERAL USE BREACH SURGE

[Garuda Prime] already has many ways to avoid damage and refill her energy, so what we need most from her is a way to do manage enemies to mass proc bleed on groups. Breach Surge creates an infinite loop which lets us just spam cast and forget even on higher levels.

MOD CHANGES:

And that's it! Besides the exilus mod, Augment mod, and [Archon Vitality] and [Augur Reach] being replaced, all the mods are exactly the same. You can spam Breach Surge and Seeking Talons and the damage will stack up non-stop.
