Corrosive is a great all-around damage type and even when the elemental mods are not fully ranked, [Exalted Blade] is such a powerful ability that it doesn't matter much and both builds will take you pretty far into the star chart were you'll be able to start farming the resources and more powerful mods needed to progress further into the game
