Gyre: [Roar, Eclipse, Xata's Whisper] - Hybrid Buffs

Gyre Gameplay Guide

[Gyre] uses Coil Horizon to group enemies together for Arcsphere and Rotorswell to blast with Electric procs. Cathode Grace fuels this process and works together with her passive to grant her additional Critical Chance. Her immense damage potential is limited to being primarily Electric damage which can struggle on some enemies.

πŸ“ Build Overview πŸ“

This is a Hybrid Buff build that focuses on increasing your own lethality with offensive and defensive abilities.

Most builds utilize tools that can be swapped out to serve the same purpose albeit in a different manner.
The following suggestions are an outline and aren't exhaustive.

πŸ”’ Helminth Options πŸ”’

Arcsphere is underwhelming against high level enemies and Coil Horizon is useless against status immune targets. Replace either at your discretion.

Hybrid Buff builds want abilities that increase your damage like Roar, Eclipse, or [Xata]'s Whisper.

Abilities like Elemental Ward, Warcry, or Defy can also be used but they sacrifice damage for additional quality of life.

πŸ“Š Modding Plan πŸ“Š

Hybrid Buff builds usually run high Strength and Duration at the cost of Range and Efficiency.

Helminth Invigorations, Arbitration Buffs, Ally Abilities, Arcanes, and other external stat boosts can save you multiple mod slots but may rely on specific team compositions, loadouts, or sheer luck. Plan around these situations and modify your loadout to hit desired ability stat breakpoints.

❀️ Survivability ❀️

Survivability is heavily dependent on the type of content that you're engaging in and as such we have to assume you're doing the hardest content available.

Utilizing effective health by stacking Armor and other forms of damage reduction is useful in the early star chart but quickly falls off unless the majority of your kit is designed entirely around your own survival.

Various forms of temporary invincibility like those from Shield Gating, [Rolling Guard], and other sources scale infinitely but require more attention to be paid to their cooldowns.

Invisibility is effective in most content but it heavily relies on careful positioning as enemy area of effect attacks can be extremely lethal at higher levels.

⏲️ Duration ⏲️

Duration is half of an ability's upkeep and should be kept relative to the effective uptime of any effects. This minimizes the time spent recasting abilities and maximizes time spent killing enemies or doing objectives.

Not all abilities utilize Duration and in those builds it's either untouched or lowered below the baseline with little consequence.

β›½ Efficiency β›½

Efficiency is the other half of ability upkeep and is usually the thing that people dump from their builds. Over the years energy has been trivialized to a point where the most problematic enemies have to be entirely immune to all abilities in order to survive the onslaught.

Sometimes a build is still too expensive or a particular ability benefits from Efficiency to such a ridiculous degree that it provides exponential returns. This is mainly done on builds that use channeled abilities as most sources of energy regeneration are limited while they're activated.

πŸ“ Range πŸ“

Range is a tricky stat to utilize as the benefits are heavily dependent on specific tilesets and your own playstyle. Some players are perfectly okay with hiding in a tiny closet bursting down enemies that walk around the corner while other players want to nuke the entire map with their abilities.

Not all abilities scale with Range and it can be entirely cut with no change in you or your team's playstyle.

πŸ’ͺ Strength πŸ’ͺ

Strength has many different benefits and has several different breakpoints or maximum returns on certain abilities. Hitting these breakpoints has never been easier as there are more ways of boosting your ability Strength than any of the other core ability stats. The builds listed here will hit any necessary breakpoints without external assistance.

Just like all the other stats, Strength doesn't always have an effect on your abilities and those builds may sacrifice it to boost other stats.

πŸ”§ Quality of Life / Augments πŸ”§

[Primed Sure Footed] or another form of knockdown immunity is highly suggested in this meta. Many enemies and even some of your own attacks will place you into animations that can waste your time or even get you killed.

Casting Speed helps most abilities but isn't always necessary. There's also a cap on animation speeds so investing too much into this stat can be wasteful.

Sprint Speed, Parkour Boosts, and other forms of additional mobility are great in any kit but not all missions have objectives that require movement. Many times these mods can be useless for the majority of the mission if your strategy involves camping a small area.

Weapon or companion bonuses like Holster speed or the Mecha set mods are only useful in specific loadouts and should be used at your own discretion.

Augments can completely change the way an ability functions or may just give an ability a small bonus effect. Swap these mods with caution as some builds may not properly function without them equipped.

βš™οΈ Arcanes βš™οΈ

Arcane enhancements are highly subjective as they usually require a specific weapon or playstyle to activate.

Defensive Arcanes can be extremely strong and sometimes the build relies on them to survive. Health and Armor based arcanes are good for lower level content while Shield based arcanes are great for utilizing the Shield Gate meta up to the level cap.

Offensive Arcanes change depending on your primary source of damage. Even the strongest meta weapons require different arcanes to maximize their damage.

Quality of Life Arcanes allow a frame to shrug off some of the more annoying attacks of enemies or allow your frame to quickly traverse larger tilesets. Although useful they should only be used if your build covers all of your other needs from a Defensive and Offensive standpoint.

πŸ“‹ Final Notes πŸ“‹

Team composition is a huge influence on how a build performs. All suggestions assume your team has been randomly pieced together with the matchmaking system and as such they're able to operate with any team or even solo.

This build may make certain assumptions about mechanics that can change after a patch. Multiple unnecessary forma may be used to facilitate more options across multiple builds with one polarity plan. Certain sub-optimal mods may be run to fit them into the forma polarity plan. We do not make builds that purposely attempt to abuse mechanics that aren't intended by the developers.
