Immortal Slumbering Dragon | Gloom Chroma | Lazy Passive Heal

INTRODUCTION

[Chroma] can now health tank to levelcap with Arcane persistence as long as you have a source of healing e.g. Gloom, Remedium or lifesteal from a weapon.
Keeping Vex Armor active gives enough armor to surpass the 700 needed for Arcane Persistence, but if you prefer an absolute safety net even if vex armor is not active you could put [Umbral Fiber] or two archon armor shards.

HELMINTH

  1. GLOOM: Gloom allows you to run basically any weapon and setup and still heal consistently and easily. If you have a specific setup that can heal you faster than 500hp/s e.g. [Life Strike] [Glaive], [Daikyu] with [Syam] (and amalgam [Daikyu] mod), [Coda Hirudo] then you can consider swapping Gloom out.

  2. SPELLBIND: Gives you status immunity for a fixed duration, meaning you cannot be susceptible to the things that can break persistence e.g. magnetic, bleed (bypasses persistence), heat, corrosive. This would be preferred in endurance, but you need to run life steal on your weapon.

  3. WRATHFUL ADVANCE: Even more damage to boost melee weapons.

  4. NOURISH: Viral damage and energy multiplier

PLAYSTYLE

  1. Activate HEAT Elemental Ward (2) and recast whenever it ends
  2. Activate VEX ARMOR (3) and get kills with melee and ranged weapons to build the armor and damage bonuses respectively.
  3. Activate GLOOM (optional if subsumed) so every damage you deal with weapons heals you
  4. Optional, Activate EFFIGY (4) for movement speed boost and credit bonuses if you get kills within range

ELEMENT CHOICE

Heat Ward

  • Gives extra health based on 370 x 55% x strength. In order to be useful for arcane persistence you really want to hit approximately 500 health bonus (about 221% strength needed)
  • Heat ward deals damage only to enemies in a 5m radius, meaning for Gloom to heal passively you need enemies in close proximity, which makes this ideal for a melee oriented playstyle.
  • Make sure to use a red coloured emissive before starting mission.

BUILD SPECIFICS

Duration
Needed for elemental ward uptime and initial vex armor uptime, but guardian armor prolongs vex armor indefinitely.

Efficiency/Energy
Don't really need energy as [Hunter Adrenaline] keeps you completely topped up constantly, and you never need to recast Vex Armor due to [Guardian Armor]. You only need to cast Elemental Ward. Gloom at minimum range barely has any drain.

Range
No real effect on anything. Gloom heal range does not require range. Effigy credit drop range is fixed at 10m.

Strength
Most important stat as it boosts vex armor, elemental ward health boost. You want approximately at least 221% strength for heat ward. This is because [Umbral Vitality] + Arcane Blessing gets you to 2051 health, meaning to hit 2500 you just need another 449 health which is achieved at exactly 221% strength.

Arcanes
Arcane Persistence: mandatory here for survivability
Arcane Blessing: optional for extra health for persistence, effectively giving an extra second of i-frames before you die
Arcane Deflection: mandatory if running grineer/fissure endurance cascade because slash procs bypass persistence to one shot you and Kuva Trokarians make slash procs constantly

ARCHON SHARDS

1 cast speed optional
2 Parkour Velocity
2 to 3 Melee critical damage

ARSENAL

Vex Armor damage buff is a additive buff to +dmg mods like serration, hornet strike and merciless/deadhead arcanes. For this reason, you can actually remove these base damage mods on any weapons you use. Additionally, there is a current strange interaction of Vex Armor buff where it 'double dips' (i.e. has a squared effect) on certain weapons including all Glaives ([Glaive Prime], [Cerata], Xoris) and Exodia Contagion. Here are some builds for them (make sure to replace the base damage mod with something else):

If you do not subsume Gloom, you can add Life strike to the glaives for on demand healing, or use a weapon combination with lifesteal:

CARNIS SET
Using the carnis set on your warframe, weapon and melee allows raw heavy attack kills to give up to 6s status immunity. [Carnis Mandible] could be attached to something like [Magistar], [Sancti Magistar] or glaives like [Coda Pathocyst], [Xoris], [Falcor].
