The Boomstick -- Javlok Throw

I've always had a unique interest in Spearguns. When I discovered [Javlok] had the ability to force Impact procs, I dived deeper into researching the weapon and asking others who had their own experiences. So now I felt it's time to offer my collective info.

For starters, the build -- you'll notice two open slots above. As fas the Exilus slot, you can go with [Terminal Velocity] if you want throws to go farther and faster, or you can go with [Vigilante Armaments] for the extra chance at Crit buffing. For the second blank slot, that's flex for any of the following you'd like to use:

-Riven
Easily fits into the build. Ideally you want CC CD DMG -harmless. Other acceptable stats are FR and Magazine.

-Primed Magazine Warp
The alt fire is stronger with a larger magazine. Enough said.

-[Heavy Caliber]
Be aware that if you use this, your throws will be affected, so you won't throw quite as straight (this is more noticeable the further the throw).

-[Vile Acceleration]
This will speed up the charge time for the throw, without breaking the 70% condition on [Internal Bleeding] (just be careful not to add other Fire rate buffs).

The build, as you can guess by the title and previous commentary, is focused on the alt fire of the Javlok -- that is, the physical throwing of the weapon. This is why it's not a standard build -- you can't generate multiple copies of the weapon with Multishot, and you only get one explosion to attempt a status proc meaning adding Viral is a waste of time. In contrast, the throw benefits from Magazine Capacity as a separate multiplier, so we can use this in place of your typical Multishot mod.

When throwing the [Javlok], you need to fully charge the throw in order to generate the forced Impact procs on the explosion. This creates the opportunity for [Internal Bleeding] to generate Slash procs to any enemies in the AoE. You will also want your magazine to be fully loaded when throwing; the more bullets the more damage.

Normally, when throwing the [Javlok], it will consume all ammo in the magazine, then begin to reload the magazine at 33% per second, and if not manually retrieved it will return to you in 6 seconds. When throwing the [Javlok], you'll switch to your secondary weapon, or if one is not equipped, your melee weapon (if neither are equipped, you'll just be unarmed).

However, there is a condition at this time where if the [Javlok] is thrown into an ally (another player; your Companion; a Rescue AI; an Ally Specter; or a unit generated by an ability such as Decoy or [Chroma]'s Effigy), the behavior of the weapon changes slightly. The AoE and forced Impact still occur; however, no ammo is consumed (though the damage does not change), and the weapon is instantly returned to you. This can be utilized strategically to rapidly repeat throws on targets near the designated ally.

Depending on how you use the [Javlok], you can use Primary Dexterity to combo the weapon with a strong melee; or Primary Merciless if you use the ally strategy.
