Infinite Scaling Tenet Cycron

[Overview]

The Tenet Cycron has long since been my favorite secondary with its excellent status chance and damage output. It can clear rooms of enemies in no time, and the ability for the beam to chain between enemies drastically increases the real-use dps. This build shreds everything in the game, although some form of armor strip is required.

"But you can get more damage by using X instead of X"

No you can't.

The Overframe DPS calculator doesn't account for status dots (damage over time), where this build will deal 902,194.05 dmg/s². Note the small '2' above the s? That indicates that this damage per second is actually damage per second per second, increasing linearly over time. This means after just 1 magazine (80 damage ticks in 4.17 seconds), your heat dot will deal 3,759,141.86 damage per second. You can scale this infinitely* since a heat proc will reset the timer of all other heat procs. No other mod in the game can provide this much damage, with the exception of a better riven.

*Heat procs will be removed once they pass 65,535 procs due to a number overflow

Don't have a riven?

No worries! Just replace the riven in my build with scorch or anemic agility. You'll get 772,621.37 dmg/s² with scorch or 722,442.10 dmg/s² with [Anemic Agility]. While not quite as good, this is more than enough to [Shred] even the strongest enemies.

Why are these numbers so high?

The most important thing about the Tenet Cycron as a damage weapon is that multishot double-dips on beam weapons. Each 'beam' created by multishot is consolidated into a single damage instance, which is then used as the input damage for the heat tick, while also increasing the status chance of each damage tick. This means that the damage of heat dots created by a beam weapon increase both in damage and in count from any additional multishot, leading to very high damage numbers.

This same principle applies to faction mods, where it increases the input damage for the heat tick, as well as the damage of the heat tick itself. This means you gain +1.4025x damage from a bane mod.

Tick Damage: 0.5 × base damage × damage mods × faction² × multishot × heat mods
Tick Count: multishot × status chance × fire rate
