Harrow: Smite/Dispensary/Nourish - Eidolon Support

Harrow Gameplay Guide

[Harrow] is a hybrid support who grants various offensive, defensive, and utility buffs to himself and his allies. He excels at covering weaknesses seen in weapons with low critical chance, fire rate, or reload speed while also helping allied Warframes who struggle with their energy economy or survivability. These tools are balanced by gimmicks that hinder their effectiveness like needing to headshot enemies or having to sacrifice his shields.

📝 Build Overview 📝

[Harrow] brings a strong critical chance buff and temporary invincibility to Eidolon hunts. This allows teams to maximize the effectiveness of their shots and bring down Synovia in a single blow.

🔢 Helminth Options 🔢

Condemn is the weakest ability on most builds because it's weaker than some of the Helminth options. All of his abilities have a place but their gimmicks might not suit your playstyle so replace whichever one you like the least.

[Xata]'s Whisper synergizes with [Harrow]'s headshot gimmick as it puts a bullet magnetizing bubble around the head of an enemy as long as the proc was on their head.

Smite with [Smite Infusion] grants a small damage bonus to your ally DPS frame so they can more easily break a Synovia with a suboptimal build.

Dispensary gives your team a full round of Health, Ammo, and Energy which can keep the hunt going with minimal interruptions or Ammo/Energy Pad usage.

Voracious Metastasis can be used to grant allies energy from across the map when they don't want to use Energy Pads and it moderately heals yourself.

Spellbind and Fire Walker can be used to [Protect] allies from Magnetic procs if you're not confident with your Covenant timing due to inexperience or high ping.

Other abilities are decent but provide a lot of redundancy due to the existence of operator mode, average loadout combinations, and the previously mentioned options.

📊 Ability Stats 📊

Efficiency has the most investment with Strength being slightly boosted for Covenant and your subsumed ability. Range isn't touched and Duration is intentionally manipulated for reasons listed in the Duration section.

Helminth Invigorations, Arbitration Buffs, Ally Abilities, Arcanes, and other external stat boosts can save you multiple mod slots but may rely on specific team compositions, loadouts, or sheer luck. Plan around these situations and modify your loadout to hit desired ability stat breakpoints.

⏲️ Duration ⏲️

Duration should be 85% to 95% as that's the accepted sweet spot for perfectly timing Covenant casts with Eidolon screams. This protects your team from Magnetic procs while giving your DPS player the critical chance bonus right when the scream ends.

⛽ Efficiency ⛽

Efficiency is increased by [Fleeting Expertise] to manipulate your Duration and to make your abilities cheaper to cast over the course of multiple chained hunts. Increase it further if you're still having issues but lowering it will force you to use Energy Pads at some point during the hunt.

📏 Range 📏

Range isn't touched as it's not used for Covenant. Tweak it only if your subsumed ability requires it to function.

💪 Strength 💪

Strength is boosted to allow Covenant to hit the critical chance cap easier while also giving a small boost to your subsumed ability.

↔️ Alternate Playstyles ↔️

Most builds utilize tools that can be swapped out to serve the same purpose albeit in a different manner. The following suggestions are an outline and aren't exhaustive.

🔧 Mods 🔧

  • Sprint Boosts helps players to grab lures with Archwing quickly without having to rely on multiple speed buffs.
  • [Primed Sure Footed] is a powerful survival tool that completely negates many forms of hostile crowd control. It also allows weapons with a large area of effect to be fired with impunity. It's an expensive login reward so replace it if you have other forms of status effect immunity.
  • Natural Talent is useful for spamming all of your abilities but it can be cut if you're using a more conservative playstyle.
  • [Adaptation] synergizes with Covenant because it allows you to build stacks for free but it becomes far less useful against high level enemies.
  • Vitality isn't necessary if your team is using a Wisp.
  • [Harrow]'s augments primarily grant quality of life benefits so save these flex slots for augments related to subsumed abilities.

⚙️ Arcanes ⚙️

Arcane Energize pairs well with [Primed Flow] and allows you to be extremely greedy with your ability casts. It can be replaced if you're confident with your energy economy or if you're playing with an ally Warframe that provides energy.

Arcane Nullifier protects you from vagrant Magnetic procs during the [Hunt]. If you completely trust yourself to use Covenant when necessary or if you bring a subsumed ability that covers this issue you can bring another defensive Arcane.

📋 Final Notes 📋

[Harrow]'s passive grants 200% maximum Overshields and an innate [Preparation] mod. This is usually inconsequential in most content due to the shield gating meta and the copious amounts of energy regeneration from various sources but it can save a mod or two on some loadouts.

Penance and Covenant have negative synergy with Thurible due to the Range inconsistencies between mods and Affinity. This forces you to make sacrifices depending with mod opportunity cost so it might just be easier to tell allies to stay closer to you rather than ruin your build.

Many abilities have a headshot gimmick that increases their effectiveness. Not all enemies can receive headshots and allies can hinder your setups by killing enemies so no builds will factor in these headshots into calculations. They're just a nice bonus.
