3 Forma - Best Weapon In The Game, So Spend the F*ckin Time

Each arrow spawns a swarm of sticky appendages on impact. These tongue-like probes latch onto nearby unfortunates and drag them close before bursting into a mess of diseased goo.

3 Forma - Best Weapon In The Game, So Spend the F*ckin Time

F*CK ME FOR TAKING A YEAR OFF FROM THIS GAME

I swear I had this perfect before the melee nerf/galvanized mods, buuuuuuut times they are a-changin', and now after taking the time to learn how DPS is actually calculated in this game, I can go back to having some fun. (updated 12/03/2022, 32.2)

Breakdown & Mechanics

Gundition Overload

95% of builds I see on here are just flat out wrong/outdated. So in case you're new to this concept of "Gundition Overload", here's a quick review.

Stacking "+damage" mods for big numbers while in your ship's arsenal or build calc, doesn't mean anything: damage is multiplicative by the type of mod, and additive if it's the same type of mod.

When building anything, you want to stick by these ground-rules to make sure you're not losing out on damage multipliers:

a) 1 damage mod: Serration or Weapon Arcane (not both) or ANY +damage mod

b) 2 critical mods: Vital Sense + Critical Delay - one chance, one damage - could be swapped out here, read more below

c) 1 faction mods: swap it every time, it is necessary, just get over it bc there is truly no replacement (no +damage mods come close, you would be better off with fire rate/status chance/anything else than even Heavy Caliber). Hunter Munitions is suitable if running non SP or sub 150.

d) 2 elemental/physical damage mods: (60/60s of your choice element unless Secondary, as you will be losing DPS to an element that caps. Secondary is the exception as it has a Primed Heat mod; ignore the physicals unless super high base)

e) 1 multishot mod: [Galvanized Chamber]

f) 1 or 2 QoL mods: [Galvanized Aptitude] (required), then [Vile Acceleration], [Vigilante Armaments] (two), or [Hunter Munitions](recommended). Can also be real QoL mods [Hammer Shot], [Ammo Drum], [Terminal Velocity], etc. but the ones above are best for DPS purposes.

If you have trouble with this concept, watch this video: [ youtube id="youtube.com/watch?v=N3n89cZpVTg&t=373s" ] (not my video, thank you to the person who made it!)

Build

The build itself follows the rules I explained above, with some slight deviation, and for the reasons that follow:

  • The Probo comes with the lowest critical chance of any bow, and below average critical multiplier. It's not meant for critical (but I'm doing it anyways bc multipliers), so you can try to force it and stick to the ground rules above, or push the status chance further and add some additional elements for different status procs. You can swap in [Vile Acceleration] and [Primed Firestorm] and completely remove crit, but it will cost one additional forma for the latter; after some DPS testing on 150 SP Grineers, it is still better to keep the crit build in my opinion.

  • Corrosive, Viral & Heat for the 25% damage boost from Viral, and the 50% armor strip and infinite stack of Heat, and the multiplicative strip of Corrosive. They are all within range of each other, so we're also not losing stacks to capped Viral.

  • Primary Merciless and [Serration] are additive, so go with one or the other. If you do not have Primary Merciless, then go with [Serration] and Malignant Force+High Voltage+Hellfire+Primed Firestorm+Rifle Aptitude or Hammer Shot to keep your damage up.

  • [Arrow Mutation] can be swapped for [Vigilante Supplies] if so desired. Arrow gives 50% ammo and Vigi gives 30%, but costs more; to each their own. I’m pushing for as much crit as possible so I’ll take the extra 5% wherever I can.

  • Any primed or galvanized variant can be swapped out for its normal version, though I would swap Galvanized Aptitude for Hammer Shot (way more forgiving on space too, but it's the damage on kill that makes GApti essential)

  • I used [Hellfire] here to push the heat damage, as I felt it was a little slow to kill Eximus enemies with the recent rework. Now, Heat will at least stack while the tentacle ticks do their Slash/Viral damage, and Viral/Corrosive will do their job bringing down enemy armor.

  • I also included [Hunter Munitions] here after some testing. I still recommend you swap your Faction mods & elements when fighting the various factions, but I’m okay losing a little bit of damage to not have to go back and forth every time. It makes up some of the difference, but the loss is quite noticeable; that being said, under 150 and you probably won’t even notice.
