Nezha General Use Steel Path (Shield-gate/Non-helminth and Helminth Options)

INTRODUCTION

[Nezha] has one of the lowest base shields in the game, making it extremely easy to reset your 'shield gate' using abilities, allowing you to survive basically any amount of non-toxin damage up to level 9999. This is an alternative option to passive tanking as it uses less forma and frees up mod slots normally used on tanking so you can add more utility to your build.

UPDATE FEB 2024
Empty slot will be for the new [Nezha] Augment Divine [Retribution].

PLAYSTYLE

  1. Activate Warding Halo (3) when you are surrounded by enemies (can use [Rolling Guard] for positioning so you don't die while you do this). This will let you absorb damage for 3s, converting it to halo health and give you a halo health of potentially into the hundreds of thousands.
  2. Keep [Firewalker] (1) active for passive heat procs and move speed
  3. Cast divine spears (4) to lock down rooms of enemies for crowd control. Try to cast this when enemies are more tightly grouped (magus anomaly option to help)
  4. Cast blazing chakram (2) to debuff enemies. When cast on speared enemies, each chakram will multiply into two and the debuff effect will spread rapidly compared to un-speared enemies
  5. Whenever you lose shields, just cast abilities like chakram and divine spears to reset your shield gate. Combine this with rolling guard.

Survivability
Survivability is mainly by using i-frames generated by [Rolling Guard] (3s), activation of warding halo (3s) and breaking of halo (1s), combined with shield gating as well as crowd control from Divine Spears:

  • Because [Nezha] has 185 base shields, adding [Catalyzing Shields] makes your base shields 37. Depleting your shields from 37 to zero gives you 1.33s of invulnerability . See here for quick video demonstration (although slightly outdated info): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SouSM_TmWU
  • With just ONE augur mod, 40% energy spent is converted to shields. At 45% efficiency, divine spears costs 155 energy, so 62 shield is regenerated, which resets your shield gate.
  • With either just [Brief Respite] or THREE augur mods (eg 3 on frame, or 2 on your warframe and 1 on a secondary weapon or sentinel secondary), 120% energy is converted to shields. At 45% efficiency, a single cast of chakram costs 39 energy enough to fully reset your shield gate.

Energy Economy
Nezha can sustain negative efficiency very easily due to Blazing Chakram and Equilibrium . Flow/[Primed Flow] is advised but not mandatory.
Blazing Chakram forces a 100% chance to drop a health orb on kill, and a 35% chance to drop an energy orb on kill, while [Equilibrium] converts health orbs to energy. This means every kill on an enemy affected by chakram gives 55 energy back and every 10 kills gives an average of 575 energy.

HELMINTH OPTIONS

  1. Breach Surge - stuns enemies including Eximus allowing to do deal bonus stealth melee damage to them, and releases sparks on damage or death which 'double dips' with chakrams vulnerability debuff assuming both the initial spark and spark hit occur on enemies hit by chakram.
  2. Silence - stuns enemies briefly and prevents Violence from dispelling abilties as well as eximus from using abilities
  3. Ensnare and other grouping options
  4. Roar/Eclipse/Xata's Whsiper - boosts weapon damage
  5. Gloom - crowd control and healing
  6. Nourish - boost viral damage and multiplieis energy gain
