Longest Day and Eternal Night | Gloom Equinox | Day Maim stun Night 99% Slow

INTRODUCTION

Equinoxes 3 and 4 abilities in both day and night forms synergize well with gloom to control the [Flow] of time or create a room of near permanently stunned enemies. With the augment [Peaceful Provocation], the day form 3 ability boosts equinoxes ability strength by 70% to hit a gloom slow of 94%, very close to the gloom cap. Equinoxes day form 4 ability creates a brief stun when enemies first enter the ability range which can be prolonged by gloom slow. Alternatively, the night form 3 ability creates up to 80% slow which can multiple with gloom to [Reach] close to 99% slow, practically freezing time entirely. While in night form, 4 also allows you to regenerate shields to stay alive from any gunfire you might take from outside the slow zone. This means you have a choice between running in day mode for 95% slow, stun locking and nuking or night mode for time freeze (99% slow) and effective immortality.

PLAYSTYLE

  1. Start off in DAY mode, and activate 3 to get an initial 40% boost to ability strength.
  2. Activate gloom while 3 is active for an initial 83% slow. Activate 4 to stun enemies and build up damage.
  3. Damage and kill enemies until you hit a 70% total boost to ability strength (shows in the UI)
  4. Dispel and recast gloom to hit 94% slow.
  5. Deactivate 4 when you want to nuke after building sufficient damage, and immediately reactivate it to restun enemies (not that enemies that have been stunned once cannot be stunned again within the same cast of 4, you must dispel and recast it)
  6. Switch over to NIGHT mode, activate 3 and 4, and take some damage until the [Peaceful Provocation] buff displays 80%. At this point, you will have 79% on top of 94% slow giving 99% slow. (try not to take any health damage as you might die. Kill enemies while 4 is active to generate lots of shields, which can be hit safely to charge up [Peaceful Provocation])

BUILD SPECIFICS

Duration
Duration can be dumped since we can hit the channelling cap using efficiency. To [Reach] the minimum drain, we just need to make sure duration stays above 40%. This can be done with a single [Primed Continuity].

Efficiency
Max ranked [Fleeting Expertise] and [Streamline] are required to hit 190% efficiency to offset the negative duration while still achieving the minimum drain for channelled abilities. Since we have up to THREE channelled abilities active in this build, this is absolutely essential. Note that the game will still show 175% efficiency but calculate it as 190% efficiency. [Primed Flow] is optional but I have not found this to be essential as long as you can maintain a decent kill rate.

Range
We would like as high a range as possible but cannot fit many more mods. 175% can be hit with [Stretch] and [Augur Reach]. You may find 145% comfortable or add [Cunning Drift] to hit 190%.

Strength
A minimum of 202% str is required. When in day form, [Peaceful Provocation] on top of pacify and provoke allows you to boost ability strength by 70% to [Reach] 272% strength, which is 95% slow from gloom. If you then switch to night form while gloom is active, [Peaceful Provocation] now gives an additional 80% slow after taking damage. This additional 80% slow actually multiplies with gloom's 95% slow to become (1 - 0.20x0.05) or 99% slow.

NOTE: With new Focus and Arcanes, you can a combination of Madurai or Zenurik with Molt [Vigor] or Molt Augmented to boost ability strength by between 45% to 100%. E.g. Using Madurai + Molt Augmented (100% str) allows you to drop strength mods for [Primed Flow] and Rolling Guard.

If you don't own Molt Augmented, replace Primed flow or Augur reach with Umbral Intensify.

Flexible Options
- Primed flow - if you have energy issues despite minimal drain and means you can channel for much longer
- Rolling Guard - for better survivability from stray bullets that enter the field
- Energy Transfer augment - you can stay in night mode to gather power while staying effectively immortal, then switch to day mode to nuke
- Adaptation + Arcane guardian - for lazy tanking in low levels, maim allows you to passively heal back any health taken

Exilus
- Primed sure footed is preference and only if you own it, handspring is an alternative
- Cunning drift to get range to 190%
- Vigilante pursuit for even more radar
- Preparation for starting energy, best used in combination with primed flow

Arcanes
Energize - essential for energy maintenance
Molt Vigor/Molt Augmented - for strength boosts
Consequence - you will be getting easy headshots, helps get around the map very fast

Archon Shards
2 cast speed shards mandatory
3 energy max allows you to replace [Primed Flow] for [Rolling Guard]

WEAPONS

[Zenith] is a fun weapon that has infinite punchthrough meaning it can shoot through any amount of walls, although sometimes the wallhack indicators don't work right. Since [Maim] produces slash damage which display through walls, you can aim [Zenith] at slash damage instances and hit enemies through walls even without the indicators active.

SENTINEL

[Dethcube] with [Energy Generator] augment is a great help to energy economy.
