Disco Ball of Death | Prism Guard Nuke Mirage

INTRODUCTION

Use prism, a disco ball of death, to shoot lasers to wipe out entire rooms rapidly.

Each cast of 4 shoots 20 lasers which track enemies dealing 500 max damage per tick, 3 times per second scaling with strength and roar. At 139% ability strength and 42% roar, each laser therefore does a maximum of 5001.391.42 or approximately 1000 damage per tick, or 3000 damage/sec per laser. This damage gets +100% boost for every enemy hit. This means in a room of 20 enemies, if all 20 enemies get hit by a laser after a few seconds, the final damage becomes about 20,000 per tick or 60,000 per second per laser. In steel path this can reach even more ridiculous levels due to high enemy density, where lasers could potential hit up to 30-40 enemies.

Terrify is an AOE armor strip that provides crowd control and also allows Prism to continue to kill enemies with high armor (e.g. lvl 300+ steel path). Pillage is a viable alternative but requires two casts and generates shields (swap [Brief Respite] for [Corrosive Projection]).

[Xata]'s whisper is ideal for meme single target damage (eg demolysts) because it exponentially increases the prism multiplier. Simply carry external armor strip eg Unairu, [Latron], [Vastilok], [Hydroid] specter or [Helios] [Deconstructor] (with [Vicious Bond]).

Archon Shards
With 2 to 4 Cast speed Shards, we can drop [Natural Talent] for more range or even [Fleeting Expertise].
Put remainder of shards into duration.

BUILD SPECIFICS

Duration
High duration is required to increase the very short Prism Guard duration to 9s, and reduce channelling drain.

Efficiency/Energy
[Streamline] would be ideal to further reduce cast cost and drain cost, but [Natural Talent] is a much more necessary mod. [Primed Flow] helps offset energy issues but arcane energize would be important.

Range
A little positive range helps increase the prism laser radius to 37m and the prism blind radius to 31m.

Strength
Positive strength boosts prism damage. 167% strength is needed for full strip from Terrify.

Other mods
[Prism Guard] augment is compulsory so you can actually guide the ball towards enemy density rather than rely on chance. If you plan on playing in very small rooms only, you might be able to drop the augment and pump up efficiency with [Fleeting Expertise].

If no cast speed shards, [Natural Talent] is absolutely compulsory to shorten the ridiculously long cast animation of prism.

[Brief Respite] is needed for survivability. Casting Terrify fills 78 shields, which gives approximately 0.6s iframes without [Catalyzing Shields]. [Catalyzing Shields] is optional over [Natural Talent] to reduce max shields to 82, allowing each cast of terrify to give approximately1.3s i frames.
[Rolling Guard] would be nice to fit in for survivability in combination with [Brief Respite], but we are very slot starved.

Arcanes
Energy is important for energy recovery
Molt augmented is required to hit strip threshold for terrify.

ARSENAL

You can use an AOE primer like [Epitaph], [Kuva Nukor] or even [Kuva Ogris] to magnify the damage of your lasers. Viral magnifies all damage to health by up to 4.25x while magnetic magnifies all damage to shields by up to 4.25x.

[Scourge] can set up a headshot attracting bubble that can suck in the prism if you run through it. You can use this to deal with single targets eg acolytes.

Sentinel
Can use [Dethcube] with [Seismic Bond] to increase channeling efficiency and provide more energy orbs

PLAYSTYLE

  1. Cast 1 and 3 and keep active at all times. Holograms help draw away enemy fire
  2. Cast 4 and run headfirst into enemies to blind them and kill them
  3. Shoot your primer as you go to speed up the process and cast terrify near enemies.
