Kuva Ogris

FULLY AUTOMATIC SUN GUN

by last updated 2 years ago

1550

The custom weapon of a fearsome Kuva Lich. Unlike the basic version the Kuva Ogris fires detonite-infused casings semi-automatically, from a smaller magazine, while dealing greater damage per shot.

FULLY AUTOMATIC SUN GUN

Some of you may have seen this in-game already. I apologize for decreasing your GPU's lifespan.

This build is intended to cover entire tiles in fire.
It just so happens to be effective in Steel Path.
Requires zero brain power to use.
And nobody will be able to see anything.

Ideal warframe is [Zephyr] with infused Energized Munitions on 2 and PSF.
Built for duration and at least neutral range. Other stats are to your taste.
Energized Munitions requires high duration due to its base duration being 5 seconds. And neutral range is for Turbulence.
If you don't have PSF, a standard [Gauss] build is your best bet.
Yes, I tried [Mirage]. No, the clones' rockets don't proc [Nightwatch Napalm].
Arcane Energize for your energy needs, and Arcane Acceleration to boost [Ogris] fire rate further.

Ideal companion is [Carrier] as the gun chunks through ammo even with 75% ammo efficiency.
Due to its high blast radius, fire rate, and low accuracy, there wont too many situations where you can't shoot something.
Meaning you will generally always be shooting, and therefore consuming ammo.
[Verglas] can proc Arcane Acceleration so consider building one for crit and fire rate and slapping it on the [Carrier] too.
It's not like the sentinel will be able to kill anything before the [Ogris] does, so you can use it to prime Ogris's fire rate.

If you're running Zephyr, then chances are you're floating in the sky and playing The Floor is Lava - which is quite fitting -
but you're expending energy and most times you're too slow, too high up, and/or too lazy to land to get energy.
I'm here to tell you that DE forgot to remove [Sporelacer] Secondary from the [Energizing Shot] blacklist.
You can use it to shoot energy orbs. Fulmination works on it too.

And since you're generally floating in the air and/or using the [Ogris], you won't be utilizing your melee very much.
I'm pleased to tell you [Amalgam Furax Body Count] exists. It increases [Ogris] blast radius by +20%.
So you can just throw it on a Mk1 Furax you just bought for credits and call it a build.

Note that the Ogris and Sporelacer Secondary has a semi-[Automatic Trigger]. This can be resolved in a number of ways.
Personally, I [Rebound] my primary fire to a free spinning scroll wheel.
However, I hear basic clicker macros are allowed. But don't quote me. I take no responsibility for your getting banned.

  • OGRIS MODS

Heavy Caliber is there mostly for its -acc, and the +dmg is just a bonus.
The rockets will deviate slightly, which ultimately increases the propagation of fire, ensuring more coverage.
You also have to aim even less. Effective at most ranges, but struggles to hit ospreys at extreme ranges.
I'm told the +dmg increases Napalm's damage.

R1 Adhesive Blast causes 1/3 of the rockets to delay their detonation by ~5 seconds.
The gun does enough damage already, so this is meant to [Extend] the lifetime of the fire in a particular area and therefore improve the CC aspect.
This also means your initial burst damage will be doing 1/3 less damage.
Since this thing chunks through your ammo, [Adhesive Blast] can be exchanged for an ammo mutation mod if desired.

I swear, Primed Magazine Warp is good :(
Though, riven replacement with a +magazine stat is recommended.
I personally use a +magazine +ms -infested riven, though +dmg or +fire rate are also nice.
This is a difference of 3 shells base to 5 shells per magazine, and 12 shells to 20 shells with Energized Munitions.

  • WHY PRIMED MAGAZING WARP IS GOOD

Assuming constant fire rate of 4.2 shells per second, 1.6 second reload, and 1 multishot. (Arcane Acceleration and Primary Merciless bonuses are included.)
These are the theoretical average fire rates in shells/second factoring in reload times. PWM = Primed Magazine Warp, EM = Energized Munitions.
Time to empty magazine = (shells in magazine) / (fire rate)
Average Shells/Sec = (shells per cycle) / (cycle time) = (magazine size) / ((time to empty magazine) + (time to reload))

3/(3/4.2+1.6) = 1.30 (no PMW, no EM)
5/(5/4.2+1.6) = 1.80 (yes PMW, no EM)
12/(12/4.2+1.6) = 2.70 (no PMW, yes EM)
20/(20/4.2+1.6) = 3.14 (yes PMW, yes EM)
Note that these rates are theoretical and only relate to the Ogris.
In-game, animations and whatnot may increase or decrease the values in unexpected manners.

From this math, PMW increases sustained DPS by +38% alone.
EM by +107% relative to base, and +50% relative to only PMW.
PMW+EM by +142% relative to base, +16% to only EM, and +74% to only PMW.

In addition, this percentage difference increases as fire rate increases, from either a [Wisp] or [Gauss] Redline or similar fire rate buff.
Assuming constant fire rate of 8.4 shells per second, 1.6 second reload, and 1 multishot.

3/(3/8.4+1.6) = 1.53
5/(5/8.4+1.6) = 2.28
12/(12/8.4+1.6) = 3.96
20/(20/8.4+1.6) = 5.02

With this hypothetical double fire rate, PMW increases base DPS by +49%.
EM by +159% relative to base, and +74% relative to only PMW.
PMW+EM by +228% relative to base, +27% to only EM, and +120% to only PMW.

While increasing fire rate improves the efficacy of magazine-related mods and buffs, increasing reload speed actually reduces the efficacy.
If your reload speed approached infinity, your reload time would be near zero. Having more shells or rounds in the magazine would mean nothing.
TLDR: PMW is good on weapons with that require constant reloading, and shooting faster makes it better.
