Sobek, Strongly Mediocre

This is a shotgun that is just fun to use. It not something that will see you through the Steel Path mindlessly, but it can do it. I often just play with guns I like the feel of and the Sobek is one of those guns. You know what I mean? So lets get into it.

The Mods

Shell Compression- More max ammo. You could swap this out for ammo mutations or what not. There aren't many Exilus Mods that get me terribly excited for this guns, so more ammo is always nice I think.

Galvanized Hell- More Multishot. The [Sobek] doesn't have enough innate multishot to make me SUPER happy with it, but given its full auto, I can forgive this transgression against me, personally.

Primed Point Blank- Trying to bring its damage up a hair. You can use [Point Blank] here if you don't have it. If you want absurdity, forgo this mod in favor of additional fire rate like [Frail Momentum] will give you. Not recommended for higher tier content, but for slumming around with your pals, it is pretty hilarious.

Shotgun Spazz- This will make the [Sobek] come alive. Its base fire rate feels too slow and unwieldy to me, this fixes that completely. Makes it feel responsive and nice.

Primed Ammo Stock- Truthfully, I had just gotten this mod recently and there aren't many situations that I would recommend this over a damage mod or something, but the [Sobek] came to me in a dream and told me that it wanted more ammunition capacity. So I gave it to the little feller. 42 shells versus 20 is a pretty nice buff. Lets you sustain a little better.

Acid Shells- I just think it's neat. Its actual AOE is pretty wonky I've noticed, but like. This mod and [Shattering Justice] are basically the whole point of using the Sobek anyway, so why wouldn't you take them? Speaking of which...

Shattering Justice- Nice buff to status chance, which is good by itself, but the Justice Proc is VERY nice for healing up frames that don't have some kind of self sustain. The blast damage is kind of meh. Great and clearing low level mobs. But I want this mod for the healing, so the blast damage proc is just a nice little spit in my mouth.

The next two mods are your elemental slots, so put whatever you please here. I have obviously thrown in [Toxic Barrage] and [Chilling Reload] to give me Viral damage. [Toxic Barrage] is a nice little dual stat mod that gives me extra status chance, and [Chilling Reload] helps out with the reload speed a bit while still giving me a notable boost in damage.

I will almost NEVER recommend an arcane that isn't either Primary Merciless or Secondary Merciless. Its not because the other ones are bad, its because they essentially will all do the same thing just they do it slightly differently and offer different bonuses at Rank 5. In the end you are looking at 360% damage buff no matter what you go with, I just find Merciless to be the easiest one to keep going because you just have to kill things.

So the [Sobek]. Some people say its trash, other people say its OP. The truth is actually completely dependent on what your goals are. Looking to have fun? [Sobek]. Looking to Trundle through Steel Path brainlessly killing all who oppose you with frightening speed? Not [Sobek]. Granted, I have taken it into Steel Path and did fine. [Chroma] has that effect on things.
