Maxed Out Nidus build + guide

No Umbral forma build, If you're willing to invest some into this Endless mission only warframe, feel free, you can fit in all 3 Umbral mods then and flex.

Just a quick FYI on why Ensnare over Larva. Ensnare pulls enemies behind obstacles, Larva doesn't since it requires line of sight. Ensnared targets stand straight up allowing you to headshot while Larva ragdolls them. Ensnare works on Acolytes, Larva doesn't. You can use Ensnare on an enemy marked by Parasitic link which effectively kills the only downside of Ensnare and if you didn't know the linked target is invulnerable to outside sources of damage which means Parasitic linked enemy won't die for a whole minute making it the prime candidate for Ensnare. Ensnare is recastable and spammable while Larva isn't, you can have multiple instances of Ensnare on multiple different packs of mobs, while Larva will force you to kill mobs instead of it in order to recast it again. Enemies pulled by Ensnare also pull other enemies nearby effectively giving the ability even higher range than what it says, Larva on the other hand needs range mods to cover more field. Ensnare provides better cc than Larva, fully disabling it's enemies for 15 seconds while Larva ragdolls them for 5sec and then knocks them down.
So what are the positive sides of Larva? The pull is instant. The casting animation is one handed and fast. Killing enemies entangled in Larva has 50% chance of generating 1/5 of a mutation stack, tho this isn't really a big positive since pulling 10 mobs equals 5 of them (50%) giving 1/5 of a mutation stack which means you'll get 1 stack from 10 mobs upon killing them, unlike Virulence giving you 1/5 mutation stack on one mob hit guaranteed. You can cast Larva in the air (useful for completing certain Dargyn killing rivens) but then you can't hit mobs with Virulence.

If you don't have [Khora] subsumed, just use Larva but then drop Primed Flow and Hunter Adrenaline and run Overextended and Transient Fortitude. The reason why you have to change mods is because:
1) you need higher range for Larva. Ensnare you can place on as many enemies as you want effectively giving it infinite range, so with Overextended you'll be having 30m range Larva.
2) we are building around Teeming Virulence to give us red crits so we need high ability strength in order to achieve that (mod scales from ability duration and strength), hence why we need to run Transient Fortitude in combination with Overextended to make up for the loss of strength, downside is that we'll have negative duration which impacts our 3rd and 4th ability but it's still fine, also our Larva benefits from negative duration since it means we'll get to cast it sooner again and we don't need to waste a mod slot on a trash bandaid augment Larva Burst.
You can still fit this build with this current forma configuration, all you need to do is drop Adaptation to rank0:

If you have Primed Sure Footed run it instead of Cunning Drift, but remember that if you are connected to an enemy with Parasitic Link all knockdown, stagger, and negative status effects are transferred from [Nidus] to the enemy target so you'll be running it for when you're connected to allies.

Don't worry about Adaptation being maxed or unmaxed it makes no diff lvl10 or lvl0, mod still goes up to 90% dr and that's all that matters, duration doesn't matter since you'll constantly be damaged, scaling doesn't matter since you'll always be taking damage.

Make sure to hit 5 enemies with your 1st ability to actually [Regen] energy.

[Teeming Virulence] and Arcane Avenger for the crit buff.

[Adaptation], [Umbral Vitality], Arcane [Guardian] and Parasitic Link for tankiness.

Healing from 4th ability and passive hp [Regen].

Zenurik focus school for 150 energy every 30sec, Primed Flow for energy cap, Hunter Adrenaline for extra energy gain and Virulence 5+ hit for energy gain, why all of this? Because Ensnare is more spammable than Larva and costs more energy to cast.

Range mods for the Larva/Ensnare pull and also "If the fungal growth cannot spawn any further because of obstruction, you can immediately recast Virulence.
Since the speed of fungal growth increases with length, having a high Ability Range means the growth will hit the obstruction faster, allowing for much faster recasting.
" <-- copy pasted from wiki so before you comment shit like "uGh yOu'Re RuNiNg RaNgE gRiEfInG vIrUleNcE tRaSh bUiLd" learn to cast it into a wall bots

Basically gameplay is spawn > operator > Zenurik dash > Larva/Ensnare 5+ mobs into a corner with "obstruction" > spam Virulence onto Larva/Ensnare pulled mobs into "obstruction" so you finish the animation faster and effectively spam faster > goal? max energy and enough mutation stacks to cast Parasitic Link ( 1 stack needed, for dmg reduction and more Virulence spawn), Ravenous ( 3 stacks needed, for healing + some fking maggots), full fashion unlock at 10 stacks and Undying passive at 15 stacks > relax now, use your primary, do some red crits then > repeat whole process = ? profit chinese hack.

The point tho is that you get the crit buff from stomping once in a while (4 mobs every 15sec) and taking dmg (21% rng for 12sec) so that your primary weapon does red crits and pops the fk off.

Honorable mentions:

Alright so I did a steel path survival run just so you guys don't think i'm selling you fog here with this build and well I left after 3 hours cuz I got bored buuut basically lvl1k+ mobs, 3 hours Uranus Ophelia steel path run (need those plastids for plague star), didn't die a single time but I did proc my passive a couple of times because of Malice Magnetize :

My loadout was:

  • warframe: Nidus
  • primary weapon: Bubonico (primary fire build, here's a link to my build https://overframe.gg/build/223663/ , honestly my secondary fire elemental build would've been better than a raw damage build for level cap, but I didn't really think about it before starting the mission)
  • secondary weapon: [Embolist] (I wasn't using it, I just had it equiped in hopes it would level as my mr fodder, but since I went solo, It got no xp because of how affinity distribution works)
  • melee weapon: / (none equiped)
  • companion: [Panzer Vulpaphyla] (build for armor strip + Martyr Symbiosis link here - https://overframe.gg/build/225093/ )
  • class focus school: Zenurik (here's a screenshot of how it looks, honestly energy is not a problem in this build so if you want you can run either Vazarin for the invulnerability or Naramon if you're a melee enjoyer)
  • operator arcanes: Magus Elevate (90% chance for 300hp every time you swap into your operator, nice healing) and Magus Lockdown (on void dash stun 10 enemies for 4sec in 15 meter radius, can place 2 mines at the same time, nice cc)
