Ironsides Hydroid

Are you tired of all these [Hydroid] builds that require a constant ritual of ability usage every few seconds to survive, maintaining an obscene level of crowd control on account of your lack of health and armor? Do you want to stand in the middle of the onslaught, being a buff pirate king who can shrug off damage with minimal personal input?

Enter: Ironsides.

Reject the life of an AoE Caster frame with awkward scaling, and replace Undertow with Parasitic Armor - become an armor-stacking megatank with 91% damage resistance, up to 95% resistance to any damage type [Adaptation] ramps up against. Laugh off enemy crowd control effects and dance in your own explosions with [Primed Sure Footed].

Parasitic Armor scales off of both Ability Strength (converting the 910 shields in the build into an additional 1610 armor) and Ability Duration, and [Rage] ensures you always have energy (since you never have shields) to keep casting Parasitic Armor when it wears off. Just make sure to bring a sufficiently strong weapon, preferably with some life steal (Healing Return, Life Strike) and/or a Hunter Recovery-built companion (like a [Panzer Vulpaphyla]) to even further boost the survivability of this tanky [Hydroid] build.

EDIT: After being prompted to evaluate the math on a mod substitution, I've decided that Redirection is a better fit than Primed Vigor. It is effectively dealer's choice whether you want up-front mitigation before [Adaptation], or higher scaling EHP against adapted damage; [Redirection] raises your shields but lowers your HP compared to [Primed Vigor], granting Parasitic Armor a staggering 2292 Armor buff, which, stacked altogether grants you a 93% DR before [Adaptation], and a 95% DR with.

The math shakes out that with [Primed Vigor], your EHP is 15,333, or 27,600 fully stacked on [Adaptation]. With [Redirection], your EHP is 16,571, or 23,200 with [Adaptation].
