UPDATE DEC 2024 [Nyx] REWORK
[Assimilate] now scales to levelcap making [Nyx] completely immortal as long as it is active (lasts over 6 minutes AFK), at the cost of mobility. You can improve mobility by boosting parkour velocity and using rolling, teleport with Amar's Hatred or Wrathful Advance or just travel via operator.

PLAYSTYLE

  1. Tap 4 to enter [Assimilate] to make you and your sentinel completely immortal. When you build up enough damage you can decast to nuke enemies in up to 50m range. Exiting 4 after absorbing sufficient damage (64,000) will give 6s of i-frame and about 12+s of 400% additive damage buff. This means you can simply move around normally by exiting 4 while being immortal and also bridging with overguard from 2.
  2. Tap 1 on an enemy to mind control and immediately shoot it in a short window to add damage boost
  3. Tap 2 to cast multiple bolts that strip armor/shield, steals overguard, and spread on kill. These also add radiation proc for passive and confuse enemies with augment.
  4. Tap 3 to crowd control enemies if needed

BUILD SPECIFICS

Duration
Positive duration helps mind control, psychic bolts and chaos, although all abilities have decent base duration

Efficiency
You need a certain mix of duration and efficiency to minimise the drain cost of Assimilate.

  • Between 40% to 100% duration, you need 190% efficiency (you can hit this despite the UI being limited to 175%), using rank 5 streamline and rank 5 fleeting expertise
  • Between 100 to 162% duration, you need 175% efficiency, which can be hit with rank 4 streamline (or Seismic Bond) and rank 4 fleeting expertise, which saves mod capacity and duration
  • Between 162% to 280% duration, you need 160% efficiency, which can be hit with a single rank 5 [Fleeting Expertise] or rank 5 streamline + seismic bond. Primed Continuity with Molt Efficiency or some Duration Shards can hit above 162%.
  • Over 280% duration, you need 130% efficiency, hit with a single rank 5 [Streamline] or [Seismic Bond]

Range
Range is only really needed for Chaos. If you decide to subsume over Chaos you can drop range for something else e.g. strength.
Note, range isn't even really needed for Absorb/[Assimilate] nuke radius because it also scales with damage absorbed:
With Assimilate, the equation is 7.5 x range% + ( SQRT (5 x damage absorbed) / 50 ) and is capped at 50m. This means at 34% range, absorbing around 1.1 million damage will make you hit the 50m cap.

Strength
Without helminth, strength is only required for hitting the full strip threshold on Psychic Bolts (125% default, 103% with corrosive projection). With a helminth, feel free to increase this higher as required.

Aura

  • [Growing Power] gives 25 strength which hits the 125% str threshold for strip, although you need to activate this constantly with status from weapons
  • [Corrosive Projection] allows psychic bolts to full strip at only 103% strength, or if you don't invest into any strength a cast of 2 will only leave 2% armor.

Exilus

  • Preparation gives energy on spawn so you can immediately enter Assimilate
  • Power drift lets you hit strength threshold to full strip
  • Amar's Anguish gives parkour velocity and allows you to teleport on heavy melee

Arcanes

  • Molt Efficiency - free duration for mind control uptime
  • Arcane Agility - parkour velocity so you can roll around faster while in Assimilate
  • Molt Augmented - to boost strength for any helminth abilities
  • Arcane Precision/Fury - boost weapon damage depending on weapon loadout

Flexible Options

  • Streamline - optional, can drop this if running Seismic Bond
  • Amar's Hatred - optional - gives enough strength for full strip on 2 and also lets heavy attacks teleport you so you can move around faster while in Assimilate
  • Pacifying Bolts - optional adds extra psychic bolts with long stun effect and forced radiation status
  • Mind Freak - optional, boosts mind control damage more

ARCHON SHARDS
1 cast speed - general quality of life
2 parkour velocity - improves rolling speed in Assimilate (and bullet jump if you use Dispensary bug)
2 duration - lets you hit duration breakpoints for channeling efficiency

HELMINTH OPTIONS

Subsume over 3 unless you need aoe crowd control for defense/excavation. Chaos only applies crowd control and radiation procs which [Pacifying Bolts] can also provide, and outside of defending objectives, [Nyx] doesn't need crowd control if running Assimilate since you are completely immortal. If subsume needs strength, add Molt Augmented, Growing Power.

ARSENAL

COMPANION
Choose any Sentinel because [Assimilate] makes them 100% immortal (does not apply to beast pets). Make sure to equip [Seismic Bond] to get free 30% efficiency to hit the 160% efficiency threshold.

Make sure to run [Amalgam Barrel Diffusion] to boost roll speed.

MELEE WEAPONS
[Ruvox]: incarnon passives can give up to 60% movement speed and an extra mid air jump which greatly improves the feel of mobility in [Assimilate]. [Ruvox] Slam and influence with the passive spears can allow you to trigger a large mind control amount (approximately 10,000% to 80,000%): https://overframe.gg/build/821372/

[Jat Kittag] and [Sampotes] with slam influence can achieve a similar thing with the same build as [Ruvox], but does not give passive mobility benefits.
