Red War - Riven

Red War with a Riven, which lets you keep the pretty red numbers popping up as soon as possible while also doing a status build, although unless you're actually switching to Viral, straight damage is probably still better, while using a primer if you want to keep CondiLoad (which is why [Weeping Wounds] isn't in here.) Obviously, one of the Riven buffs needs to be Crit Chance, but the other two can be a few different things for different utility.

Other Riven Stats

  1. Combo Count Chance or Initial Combo - Obvious benefit, but Count Chance is probably the most important thing after Crit Chance if you have Steel Path in mind. You'll very often start building up your combo with multiple enemies in your thwacking radius, and they'll take multiple hits to go down; with extra Combo Count Chance, you can easily get to 5x or more on the first group of enemies you see and it's red crits on everything from then on.
  2. Crit Damage - Another obvious benefit; enemies will take longer to [Reach] a high enough level to tank your damage at all. Alternately, you can now drop [Organ Shatter] and trade out the extra crit damage for something else (the Riven will presumably will either be close to 90% or more,) maybe another 60/60 mod or Sacrificial Pressure just to buff Crit Chance even more.
  3. Combo Duration - Less chance of having to re-proc all the conditionals between groups of enemies. Also makes the loss of an attack speed buff matter less, since the main thing that does is get those conditionals going faster when a new fight starts. (As a disclaimer, I already didn't care about attack speed even before the Great Melee Attack Speed Nerf of July 6th 2021 because I don't care about shaving off a few extra seconds on kills, and also, frankly, it just looks dumb.)
  4. An elemental damage buff and status chance - Lets you drop a 60/60 mod for something bigger. Alternately, if you pull +Cold or + Magnetic damage, keep the 60/60 mods so the Cold/Magnetic damage on its own will help take down shields.
  5. Reach - Helps with the kuva lich strat below, but pretty much the least important thing.
