Rhino packs a punch. He boasts high survivability and crowd control. The wise would do well to stand clear when he charges.

Efficient Index, 5k Ferrite

Gameplay

This build gives 5,012 Ferrite Armor (alternative HP, basically) from your 2, Iron Skin. Keep an eye out on how much Ferrite you have and recast it (recasting is enabled by your R0 [Iron Shrapnel]) when it drops below 2k.

Carrying lots of points? No problem. Iron Skin costs 48 energy and each energy orb gives 50, so you can just spam 2 while collecting one to ensure your recast is successful. Don't worry about de-casting it, as that can only occur after the period of invulnerability is over.

Generally you want to collect 15 points at a time, which gives 8 bonus points (which will be shown in your HUD) and deposit 15+8=23 points. Collecting 20 once per round has no efficiency loss. A generic round would have you deposit 23+23+23+23+8=100 (23+23+30+1=100), though the final 8 is usually flex space filled by other players accidentally picking up points, you accidentally picking up a few extra points, a second [Carrier] not knowing how to count to 15, etc. Just get your 23's in and don't worry too much about the things you can't control. :)

I guess you could use this build outside of the index as well, though you'll need to remember to recast 2 after going into archwing in free roam, as this build is pretty squishy when your 2 is down.

Build Notes

You should save your forma and potatoes for other frames, as you'll be selling this one to free up a slot once you have [Rhino Prime] and then you'll be building him up to 9k+ Ferrite. When you're ready to upgrade, take a look at my rhino prime setup: https://overframe.gg/build/1666/

You can swap Steel Charge for R5 Corrosive Projection/[Shield Disruption] (when the host complains), but then you'll need to remove [Fleeting Expertise] and swap R2 [Augur Secrets] for R0. You'll still get 4.8k from Iron Skin, but you'll need 78 energy per recast, which might not be possible when you're carrying a lot of points.

Acquisition

Rhino is obtained at Fossa, Venus. Ask a friend/in chat for help if you need it, but a few Excaliburs should be able to take down the Jackal without too much suffering.

Technically you could buy all these mods at MR2 if you had enough plat, and start being a high index beast that needs a taxi from day 2. But if you're like most people, it'll take awhile to buy and get these mods. If you can get up to 3.2k Ferrite, that's pretty decent for 1-2 rounds of high index per investment. If you're in a rush, buying all this from the start costs around 370p total.

A good midway build for 4.3k Ferrite: https://overframe.gg/build/1664/

R10 [Blind Rage], R5 Fleeting Expertise, and R0 Iron Shrapnel will be used in your Rhino prime, so you won't be losing much by investing some endo/plat into those mods. You may want to buy [Steel Fiber] maxed and sell it later (to the next generation of newbie rhinos) when you find yourself using [Umbral Fiber] all the time. [Augur Secrets] will end up being upgraded to R5 when other builds require it.

So overall, I'd say this build is pretty efficient. :)
