If you don't have riven instead of riven you can use [Weeping Wounds] or Spoiled Strike depending on enemy type.
If enemies are infested you don't need weeping wounds.
Corrosive is good because:
1- Deals +75% to fossilized (infested),
2- Deals +75% to ferrite armor (grineer),
3- It's good against armored enemies because it ignores a percentage of the enemy's armor.
On Riven you should look for critical chance, critical damage.
