Sevagoth: Fire Blast/Pillage/Base Abilities - Reap & Sow Nuke

Sevagoth Gameplay Guide

[Sevagoth] combines crowd control and damage vulnerability debuffs on enemies to dispatch large groups of them with ease. His passive can save him from suboptimal situations but it requires five nearby enemies to bring him back during the bleedout timer. Enemies that are immune to Gloom's slowing effect can force him to rely on Exalted Shadow or weapons in his loadout.

📝 Build Overview 📝

Reap and Sow create a nuke that scales off of the enemies' health. This build attempts to utilize this interaction for quick and efficient room clearing that scales across the majority of content.

🔢 Helminth Options 🔢

Gloom is fairly weak in this build as it's completely outclassed by the Reap and Sow nuke. It can still be used for passive Death Well upkeep if you're playing against a faction with no armor.

Fire Blast strips armor which allows the Reap and Sow nuke to scale against armored enemies.

Pillage, Terrify, and Shuriken also strip armor but they're fundamentally weaker versions of Fire Blast in this build. This can be alleviated by strong outside sources of ability Strength.

Ensnare, Larva and Resonator can keep enemies under control while you're setting up the nuke. Unfortunately it takes several casts to kill high level enemies so they can get in a few attacks on you if you're trying to reposition without some form of crowd control active.

Other abilities are decent but provide a lot of redundancy due to the existence of operator mode and the previously mentioned abilities.

📊 Ability Stats 📊

Range and Efficiency are the main focus in this build so that the nuke can be spammed constantly with no downsides. Strength gets a small boost to benefit the raw damage from the nuke for better low level potential but this comes at the cost of Duration due to a lack of mod slots.

⏲️ Duration ⏲️

Duration is hurt by [Transient Fortitude] and [Fleeting Expertise] but it's brought back up to keep your abilities usable. The combo shouldn't be effected by this issue as enemies shouldn't survive long enough for Sow to drop. Flex mods can be replaced for more duration if you're having issues with some subsumed abilities.

⛽ Efficiency ⛽

Efficiency is kept near the max as Reap needs to be constantly spammed for the nuke to compete with similar strategies from other frames. [Fleeting Expertise] is a flex mod if you're using abilities that need additional Duration or if you're confident in your energy economy with just Streamline.

📏 Range 📏

Range is near the max to allow the nuke to hit every enemy in a room. [Stretch] or [Augur Reach] are flex mods on smaller tilesets but be wary of decreasing it too much as you're relying primarily on the radius of Reap to spam the nuke rather than Sow.

💪 Strength 💪

Strength is boosted by a small amount to increase the damage of the nuke from the damage vulnerability on Reap. It isn't necessary due to the percentage based nature of the interaction but it's helpful for clearing out weaker enemies instantly. [Transient Fortitude] and [Umbral Intensify] are flex mods depending on the type of content that you're running. Growing Power and Power Drift are very weak sources of Strength so the same concept applies to them as well.

↔️ Alternate Playstyles ↔️

Most builds utilize tools that can be swapped out to serve the same purpose albeit in a different manner. The following suggestions are an outline and aren't exhaustive.

🔧 Mods 🔧

  • [Growing Power] is easy to proc and provides additional damage on the nuke. It isn't necessary and can be replaced with any other aura.
  • Power Drift is the weakest source of Strength and can be replaced at your discretion.
  • Fleeting Expertise has some negative synergy with subsumed abilities that utilize Duration. It's a flex mod in those scenarios.
  • [Transient Fortitude] and Umbral Intensify are flex mods on build variants that entirely rely on the percentage based damage rather than raw damage.
  • Augur Set mods and the nuke are your primary sources of survivability. Rolling Guard can be used instead of a flex mod if you're going against extremely high level enemies.
  • [Sevagoth] should use augments for his subsumed abilities if they're necessary. Strength mods are the main contenders for replacement but some augments need those mods to function.

⚙️ Arcanes ⚙️

Arcane Energize synergizes with [Primed Flow] and keeps your energy topped off. It can be replaced if you have other strong forms of energy recovery either through abilities or allied energy support frames. Offensive arcanes like Arcane Avenger or Arcane [Fury] are usually the call.

Arcane Aegis synergizes with shield recovery to provide a massive boost to your survivability. It can be replaced if you don't like the random nature of the proc. Tertiary defensive arcanes like Arcane Guardian or Arcane Grace are usually the call.

📋 Final Notes 📋

Reap instantly weakens nearby enemies and it deals percentage based damage when they're under the effects of Sow. Using Reap as fast as possible can cause it to bug out and fail to hit enemies even when they're within the ability radius.

Consume from Exalted Shadow instantly kills most enemies while [Sevagoth] is bleeding out but it doesn't work against everything. Listing off every exception would significantly increase the size of this guide but the general rule is that the enemies that are known for being immune to abilities will also be immune to Consume.

Exalted Shadow doesn't carry over the buffs, arcanes, and set mods from the base [Sevagoth] loadout. Set mods are actually turned off completely while in Exalted Shadow. This is slightly alleviated by how easy it is to switch back and forth between the two forms. Any outliers are most likely not intended because they're extremely inconsistent with the very small minority of exceptions.
