Why no max Rank [Adaptation]?
Rank 10 gives max DMG reduction, further Ranks increase buff Duration. Not worth the additional drain!

Sidenote:

There is some funny interaction with selfdamaging weapons:
Apply a Heat Status to yourself and you get your DMG Buff in the dark, which makes you a more potent DPS role then [Chroma] in Eidolon Hunts.
