Katamari Grendelcy

Two main objectives of this build to keep in mind here:

  1. Maintain maximum armor bonus from his passive for survivability.
  2. Utilize the power of his Pulverize, at maximum size, for as long as possible.

Math things:

  • [Grendel]'s armor gain from his passive is linear, which means his base armor value doesn't make the armor gained any higher or lower.
  • Efficiency helps a LOT with maintaining his benefits from having enemies he's feasting on, letting him last much longer with the increased maximum energy (tested at rank 6 primed flow):
    • With only a base Streamline (130% efficiency), he can only maintain 20 feasted enemies for around 5 seconds before he runs out of energy.
    • If he pairs this with both [Streamline] and Expertise (175%), this duration increases to 15 seconds. This can be extended further if he has access to Energy Orbs regularly (which, using Spectrosiphon, he usually will.)
  • [Grendel]'s energy cost for maintaining eaten enemies rises drastically over time, meaning it's practically impossible to maintain a constant level of armor through an entire mission.

Playstyle:

  1. Use Spectrorage to generate energy orbs while fighting. This is key both before you use feast, and during its usage since it's one of the few ways you can get energy without using an Energy-Over-Time mechanic that Feast's energy drain stops.
    • You can barf enemies out with held Feast inside the Spectrorage immediately after using it. This is especially useful if your Feast collected too many enemies (i.e. 20+) and you need to regulate the amount - not all enemies usually die after Feast ends, so they can then be picked right back up after being barfed.
    • Killing enemies with Nourish can also potentially trigger the [Spectrosiphon] effect, generating both healing and energy.
  2. Maintain feasted enemies for higher armor. Use it alongside Spectrorage to maintain a reasonable balance between energy drain and energy gain.
  3. When drain rate begins to pick up drastically, use Pulverize.
    • You can use ground-slams (jumping) to deal damage to your feasted targets quickly, as well as to surrounding enemies.
    • Rolling into and damaging outside enemies also damages ones you've feasted.
    • After all feasted enemies are dead, you'll not be able to speed-boost with Nourish, but your energy drain will be much more reasonable for a good while. Make the most of it!

Notes:

  • Catapult is optional. If you don't need it, this is a 2-forma build.
  • Feel free to change around your choice of Aura.
