Essential Summary:
This build is extremely effective for taking on Veil Proxima fighters and disabling Crew Ships. It takes full advantage of the plasma proc from puncture damage. Radiation doesn't produce any proc in Empyrean game mode (Railjack) so the primary proc this build produces is plasma damage which reduces target armor and shields that stacks additively. It can also do ballistic proc due to impact damage type presence however, it is not that frequent since the puncture damage value is significantly higher. Also, I predict plasma is going to be the most effective proc against future shielded Corpus fighters when the Call of the Tempestarii update drops.
Personal Note:
I prefer this over the [Cyngas] because the projectile speed, accuracy, magazine size, and effective range are all better than [Cyngas]. It is much easier to hit fighters with the [Mausolon] at any range. I get way more KPS (kills per second) with this gun.
Build variations:
There are a couple of variations for personal preference:
- [Electrified Barrel] can be traded out for [Critical Focus] but I really cannot tell any difference between the two configs. The damage numbers are negligible as is the performance.
- [Sabot Rounds] can be traded out for [Quasar Drill] (puncture inc.) or a cold damage mod. However, it takes more shots to take out fighters and the total damage is less. With cold damage procs the fighters come to a complete stop and let you shoot them more easily, but with Amesha's Warding Grace active that is just overkill.
- [Sabot Rounds] can be taken out for [Automatic Trigger] which IMO is not worth it. That will just use up your magazine much faster and it takes a long time for the Mausalon magazine to reload (it has the longest reload out of all archguns). In fast paced Railjack missions you want to minimize reloads as much as possible.
