The Melodic Blaster | Pandero Prime

Hello everyone,

My name is UltimoFive and today we are going over the [Pandero Prime], The Melodic Blaster.

Weapon Information

  • The [Pandero Prime] is the prime version of the [Pandero] from Octavia Prime's release and is obtained by opening a variety of relics that contain said materials in order to make it.

  • Pandero Prime Requires a mastery rank of 14.

  • [Pandero Prime] comes with 1 "V" polarity slots and a "V" Exilus Polarity Slot and because of this the builds on this weapon require 3 Forma Normally and 4 Forma for Galvanized Modifications.

  • [Pandero Prime] excels in Close to Medium range combat and deals with high leveled enemies of all factions against single targeted enemies or small crowds.

  • [Pandero Prime] has an alternative fire which when used empties the clip in a burst shot.

Comparison to Original Pandero

The Pandero Prime has a couple buffs when compared to the original Pandero in different areas. These stats would be:

  • Higher Primary and Secondary Base Damage at 104.0 Vs. 72.0

  • Higher Primary Status Chance at 24% Vs. 10%

Advantages Vs. Disadvantages

Advantages:

  • Very High Critical Chance at 30%

  • Very High Critical Multiplier at 2.8x

  • Very High Status Chance at 24%

  • High Ammo Efficiency

  • Very Fast Reload Speed at 1 Second

Disadvantages:

  • Low Impact and Puncture Damage at 26.0 / 25%

  • Low Magazine Capacity at 8 Rounds

  • Primary Fire has noticeable Recoil do to it being a revolver classed Pistol.

  • Alternative Fire has High Recoil and Wide Spread, which makes it inefficient beyond short range.

Builds

Corpus: Suggested up to level 145

The Elements for the Pandero Prime against the Corpus will be Viral/Electricity. Viral amplifies health damage by 100% for 6 seconds and stacks up to 10 times for a total of 325%, meanwhile Electricity stuns the target for 3 seconds and deals 50% base damage per second for 6 seconds. The Build's Flex Slot is Lethal Torrent and works very well with Viral/Electricity procs. Just like the [Tenora Prime] it works against robotic enemies a lot better than not having Electricity and kills off human Corpus rather quickly. I'd say this weapon is better than [Tenora Prime], but at high levels, after killing a couple enemies, the player has to reload.

Corrupted & Grineer: Suggested up to level 145

The Element for the [Pandero Prime] against the Corrupted and Grineer will be Viral. The Build's Flex Slot is [Lethal Torrent] and is great. I tested this weapon at first with Heat Damage instead of having Carnis Stinger and the damage sucked, terribly. Just stick with Viral/Slash against the Corrupted/Grineer and you'll be all good! Just don't put heat on, seriously, it suffers when you put it on against higher leveled enemies.

Infested: Suggested up to level 145

The Elements for the Pandero Prime against the Infested will be Viral/Heat. Heat deals 50% base damage per second over 6 seconds while stripping up to 50% armor and causes targets to panic. The Build's Flex Slot is [Lethal Torrent] and now is when you want the heat damage. I mean why wouldn't you want Heat Damage against the Infested and I even tested Viral/Slash against the Infested and had better results with Heat. There is a time and place for Heat, this is where it shines with this revolver!

Recommended Alternative Mods

  • Steady Hands - In place of having no Exilus mod. This will cost Two more Forma in order to have though and is an option if you can't really handle the weapons recoil.

  • Ice Storm - In place of Frostbite if you care for 3 more shots in the magazine at the expense of 60% status chance and 20% less Cold Damage.

  • Primed Expel Corpus, and Expel Infested - In place of [Lethal Torrent] if you want more Damage against a individual faction at the cost of some Fire Rate and MultiShot. This in turn will also cost one more Forma however.

  • Primed Expel Grineer - In place of Carnis Stinger if you want more Damage against a individual faction at the cost of increased Slash Chance and 60% status chance.

  • Primed Heated Charge - In place of ONLY [Scorch] in the Infested Build. You will have to forma the weapon one more time in order to have though , but it does wonders against the Infested.

  • Convulsion - In place of [Jolt] in the Corpus Build. This easily can go hand in hand if you also wanted [Primed Heated Charge] for the Infested Build at the cost of one more Forma. Again Heat only goes on the Infested, it doesn't work well against the Corrupted and Grineer.

Non-Recommended Alternative Mods

  • Primed Heated Charge - At least when going against the Corrupted and Grineer is a bad idea. It is better to just have 4 statuses against these factions instead of a possible 5 which not only causes Slash Procs to appear less, but heat actually doesn't do as well as Slash would do with Viral. Sure it increases the damage, but it doesn't help any against the Corrupted and Grineer. However, it is perfectly fine in the Infested build as discussed before.

Ways to increase Critical Chance and Damage

There are several ways to enhance Critical Chance and Damage for this weapon:

Damage:

  • Rhino's Roar adds bonus damage.

  • [Nova]'s Molecular Prime makes all sources of damage increase by 100% against primed enemies, on top of that they will detonate upon death dealing blast damage.

  • Mirage's Eclipse which adds a massive damage bonus during the day or in light.

  • Saryn's Toxic Lash mixed with her Spores abilities.

Critical Chance:

  • Harrow's Covenant can add up to 50% Critical Chance and 200% on headshots.

  • Adarza Kavat with Cat's Eye can give a 60% Critical Chance boost.

  • Smeeta Kavat with Charm can give a 200% Crit Chance.

Arcane Synergy

  • Arcane Avenger - Upon getting hit, 21% chance for 45% Critical Chance for 12 seconds.

  • Arcane Awakening - On reload, 60% chance for 150% damage to pistols for 24 seconds.

  • Arcane Precision - On Headshot, 100% chance for 300% damage to pistols for 18 seconds.

  • Arcane Pistoleer - Upon Headshot kill with Pistol, 60% chance for 102% Ammo efficiency for 12 seconds.
