Steelfarm Khora (Whipclaw + Strangledome + Spectorage)

Suiting Venari:
https://overframe.gg/build/128013/

For infusion as convinience setup you could also use:

Is not a cheap build. I hope you like it. As focus school i recommend using Naramon for: "POWER SPIKE". (Melee Combo Counter now decays while out of combat by 5 every few seconds, instead of depleting completely.) If for whatever reason you do not have Naramon, use the other school you have and ask your team to setup for auras: Swift Momentum for yourself + Melee Guidance on a squadmember. Bear in mind that you ll loose some other beneficial auras tho.

And of course you need any "statstick" that does best for you. A statstick is a melee weapon that serves as base to amplify the damage of the whipclaw. Since the whipclaw with th [Accumulating Whipclaw] augument is so powerful with a proper statstick [Khora] does not require having a lot of strength. In turn tho you should have at least 130 % efficiency for being able to whip in the ideal rythm. This needs to be in balance with range and duration to provide crowd control and comfort. Khora is hard work!

A generic statstick build: https://overframe.gg/build/161267/

My current standing of knowledge is that the weapons own stats do not add to the power of the whipclaw. But what does matter are the mods you put on. Simply and short i recommend any melee weapon with superior high riven disposition and a most possibly close to a godroll riven for it. Else just go with corrosive. This helps against grineer and is simply just a 1 hit thing against any other fraction alike. Pls refer to many guides out on the net for statstick build advices. This above is close to what i use personally. My real "weapon" itselves is top secret :D You might also want to consider using a weapon that still has a good stance to melee, even if the statstick build is not that good when used as a normal melee only. This build is targeted towards optimizing the whipclaw.

How to play this thing?
The idea of this build is being the damage dealer in a squad of otherwhise supporting frames. Ideally you ll have in your team:

(If you have fun trying stuff you could give your hydroid a revival: https://overframe.gg/build/159703/hydroid-prime/camp-support/ replace with nekros).

For Example: Fire up your favorite Steelpath survival, lets take Ceres - Gabii. Find a spot with 3 entrances and a dead end where you ll want to put your camp at.

Put up the dome, stay standing in the middle of it. And calm down. Maybe drop a energy pad to have some energy for start. More energy will fly toward you once you got rolling. Wait for your squad, they ll start providing their support, buffs and services. It is not required that you jump around like a squirrel the whole time. If you do your thing right you can just stand at one spot and move back and forth time to time to pickup loot while performing your abilities. As khora your job will be:

  • Keep the Strangledome up on cooldown. This serves for crowd control and to provide more loot via Pilfering Strangledome. #4 Ability.
  • Repeat ability #1 (Whipclaw) as soon as you find enemies hanging in your dome and keep wipphing every 1 - 2 secs for the whole duration of the run. This is your actual damage dealing ability. You will stack your melee combo counter up to 12 and see many red numbers on your screen once reaching 12x counter. You will want to find a rythm for this to not drain your energy too fast and have a good and constant amount of enemy flowing toward you. You should try to fit your whip rythm so that you always hit several enemy at a time ot utilize the accumulating whipclaw mod. This is why speedva is very important. Speedup so that you get enough food.
  • When an acolyte spawns. Use your #2 Ability (Ensnare) to fixate. So you and your squad have easy play killing the acolyte.
  • When you see toxin clouds and yellow goo on the ground cast spectrorage on it. It will distract enemy fire and cause some damage and cause enemies attacking the mirrors. So you can provide another amount of crowd control to your camp that will provide a higher base of security.
  • Once you get into that play or synergy a bit you can start keeping your 3 and 4 up constantly while continuing whipping. And ensnaring acolytes as they spawn.

Whats the deal with rythm? Basically you could just whip so fast and continous that you ll soon lack on enemy. And the loot is spread all the way down a long corridor. If you want to have a high efficiency in terms to most possible loot, find a slower rythm and actually use your strangledome. Try to have all loot inside or short infront the camp so that noone has to travel far distances across the map to pickup stuff.

The strangledome of this build has a range of 10.25 metre. Sounds few? - Go to simularum, put it up and get on distance and say this again. Then pls also bear in mind how big most maps are. Actually youll mostly use smaller locations for camping an even a big dome would just latch to the top of a room or to an entrance of a room. Also if your dome is too big, enemies might get stuck. On the way towards you. This would destroy the [Flow]. I find a range of 205 % the ideal balance in size.
The strangledome has a "grabradius". So outside of this 10.25 you have the same distance ontop that you can cover an area of 20.5 metre. Enemies will get caught and pulled toward you, hanging in your dome.

The whipclaw does a form of AOE damage so you can also whip right on ground infront of you. I personally find it best to point my whips near the end of the actual strangledome, where the actual grabzone starts. Not further. Else the loot will be too far away and so the Pilfering Strangledome mod would loose its function.

There is so much more in this build that i simply can not cover here typing. Just try it out ;) I can only tell you with this build i personally can do endless steelpath survival, even solo.

Q: Which additional companion would you recommend?
A: For Steel Essence it is a clear "Smeeta Kavat": https://overframe.gg/build/161309/

Q: I have a kavat additionally equipped i suddenly see only orange damage numbers?
A: Your Kavat buffed crit and locked down to 200 % for a short time. Forgive him this little good meant deed. The kavat will in return provide you with some extra loot sometimes.

Q: What happens with the [Venari] since theres a infused ability on #3?
A: The [Venari] will just be there and function like a extra kavat. Still bear in mind that some mod restrictions apply. You can look this up on the warframe wiki. Pls find my sugguested venari build. https://overframe.gg/build/128013/ If the [Venari] dies it ll just respawn next to you unlike your [Smeeta Kavat] that you would have to rezz. I modded the [Venari] as a little extra damage dealer with some [Healing Return] providing shield when rezzing fallen tenno and some amount of survivability.

Q: Why are you not using the "[Spectrosiphon]" augument, when using Spectrorage already?
A: I have no energy problems. This would waste a full modslot. Spectrorage alone is useful enough.

Q: Do you recommend using Specters additionally?
A: There are some useful specters and probably many more than i can cover here. These tho are my personal favorites that i tend to place in the back of the camp sometimes, making them hold position so that they not just run around in the wild and interrupt the enemy [Flow] also i look out that they not block the field of view of other player. This needs some practice to spawn them and make them hold position:

  • Ancient Healer Specter: Very great since it casts an ability that frees you and your squadmembers within range from any status effects at a pretty decent frequency. (Can be bought for standing at New Loka syndicate see wiki where to get em else).
  • Shield Osprey Specter: Buffs the shields of everyone in range of the drone, also for specters. Can be bought for standing from Cephalon Suda Syndicate. (See wiki where to get em else.)
  • Specter (Tenno/Warframe Specter) - Vapor/Phase/Force/Cosmic:
You can apply them any loadout of your warframes. I personally tend to have a [Rhino] with me always since he is very robust and actually casts roar. So for example when [Wisp] wit infused roar casts 128 % roar and your specter at same time 85 % roar then you are over 200 % extra damage already, which is great. ;)

Q: Which specters should i avoid?:
A: First off: Too much can be visually very distracting. Avoid deploying all specters up in a camp that you own. It's loud and too much stuff on the screen. They are not really powerfull enough to kill very fast scaling enemies over longer mission duration. Avoid [Wisp] specter since the [Wisp] specter will put up the shock mote. This will destroy enemy [Flow] towards you by stunning them. Avoid any specters with abilities that impact enemy [Flow] toward you. Avoid slowdowns, Stunns etc.

Q: Enemies ignore my strangledome and just run straight towards me sometimes?
A: Theres very likely a enemie somewhere around making them immune. Find and erradicate.

Q: Can i kill the Acolyte with the whipclaw?
A: Ensnare to fixate. With a good statstick its a oneshot.

Q: An acolyte spawned and i can not use any ability all of a sudden:
A: The acolyte silenced you. Kill em fast with your melee and you ll be back in the game.

Q: Which other weapons should i bring as Khora?
A: I personally take as:

  • Primary:
Either a powerful shotgun that is able killing enemies in Steelpath or any other primary. Just bring something that can kill enemies in emergency.
  • As Secondary: I bring a so called Primer/Hybrid like the [Kuva Nukor] is with high statuschance and many different status effects to prime the acolyte for example so that the squad have ez play on the acolyte with their mostly common [Condition Overload] builds. If you own a magnetic [Nukor] for example you can apply then: Heat, Viral, Radiation, Magnetic in a single short shot which are 4x 120 % extra damage only from this little stroke. Which then adds up with most commonly corrosive melee builds.

Q: How important is communication in the squad?
A: The better you communicate the better your result will be. I can only recommend to [Khora]: "Don't be distracted." And the rest of the team might want to avoid distracting [Khora].

Q: Now i have all this setup and khoras damage does not stack as i expected?
A: This could have many reasons some very likely are:

  • Check if your nova is afk, false modded or if someone is using an ability strength increasing aura that messes with your nova.
  • You chose an unbeneficial spot for your camp. Try finding another spot.
  • You are in a good spot but you put the dome in a false position. For example its blocking the enemy from acessing your actual area. Try moving your dome back into a smaller room or more forward to a crossing if you are at the end of a long corridor, to allow better enemy [Flow] into your domes grabradius. Positioning is very important. Adapting is then the way to go. Watching the enemy movement on your radar will help you recognize what happens.
  • If you have a really high DPS statstick already it is very likely that you maybe just kill them too efficiently already. Screw down your expectations. Theres an maximum on enemies the game engine can handle at a time. This tho would then change with increasing enemy level your whipclaw will stall again.
  • The tilesets are generatet different every run. Sometimes in sum it is so unbeneficial that you just want to try resetting the mission for more beneficial alignments.
  • Check [Wisp] did not put up shock motes. You would mostly see this when theres shock animations indicating electricity status effect visually.
  • Check noone using unbeficial crowd control abilities / infusions / specters.
  • If you re in an area with lower enemy occurence it is very helpful to remind your squad not doing damage so that you have them all for yourself. Remind them that they are not supposed to deal damage.
  • Check your build, especially focus school, statstick.

Q: Can you recommend some survivals?
A: Here some i prefer:

  • Uranus Assur
  • Ceres Gabii
  • Sedna Amarna
  • Mercury Apollodorus
  • Deimos Terrorem
  • Jupiter Cameira
  • Void Mot, Ani
  • Phobos Zeugma
