This beginner build is meant to work with 0 Forma (default polarities), and tries to use mods that are relatively easy to farm and/or cheap to buy. This is just a starter build and will take you through a majority of the early-mid game content. You will need to invest some Forma into [Saryn] to optimize her and make her end game viable, and it's totally worth it.
Build
The focus of this build is on Range for max AoE nuking and consistency. It also includes positive Efficiency and Duration to help with energy issues and ease of use. Given the zero Forma and weaker mods, we partially neglect Strength.
- Max range is a must for me ([Overextended], [Stretch], [Augur Reach], and [Cunning Drift]).
- Either [Rejuvenation] or [Physique] are fine. Using a Forma on the Aura slot is just for QoL.
- My personal preference is 130% efficiency (Streamline) so I can easily do the combo of: Toxic Lash -> Spores (+hit) -> Miasma (105 energy total).
- [Vitality] for some survivability
- Duration ([Continuity]) primarily for Toxic Lash usability, but also helps Miasma's total damage output and slightly slower Spores decay.
[Intensify] mitigate the strength loss from [Overextended].
The last slot is flex and without moving anything around you have 12 points of capacity left (potentially a bit more depending on your choice and rearranging which mod is on a polarized slot):
-Augur Secrets is a good choice to bump up your Strength to increase your nuke damage
-Constitution is a nice way to add some duration for ease of use (using the dash polarity and putting Stretch in an empty slot)
-Regenerative Molt is a cheap syndicate mod that will add a ton of survivability without the need for Operator Arcanes
-Venom Dose is another fun syndicate mod that will increase your weapon damage
-Flow can help you manage your energy by increasing the maximum amount of energy you can store
-[Rage] or [Hunter Adrenaline] can also help you solve energy issues
If you're building a zero Forma [Saryn] then you may not have all the recommended mods, but it's okay to be flexible and mix and match mods to your liking.
TL;DR: I prioritize Range > Efficiency > Duration > Strength
