Titania: Larva/Ensnare/Fire Blast - Crowd Control Support

Titania Gameplay Guide

[Titania] is primarily a support frame that can use Razorwing to transition into other playstyles. Most of her abilities focus on various defensive buffs or mild enemy crowd control. Razorwing grants her massive damage, survivability, and movement speed which can be adapted to various mission types.

📝 Build Overview 📝

Most of your abilities are focused on supporting allies and this build attempts to capitalize on it. Spellbind, Tribute, and Razorwing have defensive effects that aren't heavily influenced by mods so this variant will focus on whatever ability is subsumed.

🔢 Helminth Options 🔢

Lantern has inconsistent line of sight checks and it should be replaced until this system is changed on a macro level. If you're playing with some form of constant invisibility it's far more useful.

Larva is a cheap form of crowd control and its short range in comparison to other options is negligible on a frame with great three dimensional movement.

Ensnare brings greater range and synergy with other abilities but has a slower propagation and casting speed.

Fire Blast strips enemy armor and doesn't require significant investment but can have an impact on your energy economy.

Shuriken, Pillage, and other armor stripping abilities are good options but require additional Strength investment.

Silence, Lull, and other crowd control abilities are useful when grouping up enemies isn't necessary.

Other abilities are decent but provide a lot of redundancy due to the existence of operator mode and the previously mentioned abilities.

📊 Ability Stats 📊

Range is the primary focus of this build with Strength and Duration getting small buffs over the baseline. Efficiency isn't touched as this build solely uses cheap abilities. Every stat should be tailored to whatever your subsumed ability is as Titania's base kit doesn't scale well with any stat investment.

⏲️ Duration ⏲️

Duration is mainly for the subsumed ability but gives a small boost to your energy economy. We don't run much more than the baseline as Tribute buffs gain no benefits and both Razorwing and Spellbind don't receive enough benefits to warrant cutting other mods.

⛽ Efficiency ⛽

Efficiency isn't touched as we're relying entirely on [Primed Flow] and Arcane Energize procs. Other energy sources can also be used when outside of Razorwing. If you're relying on smaller and more frequent bursts of energy then Streamline should be used instead of a flex mod.

📏 Range 📏

Range is boosted to benefit the subsumed crowd control ability. Tribute and Spellbind only gain small quality of life benefits while the vast majority of the rest of her kit is completely unaffected. Replace these mods as you see fit.

💪 Strength 💪

Strength is slightly boosted to give Razorwing and the [Razorwing Blitz] augment competitive damage in more content. If you're not using either of these then any Strength mods become entirely dependent on the subsumed ability.

↔️ Alternate Playstyles ↔️

Most builds utilize tools that can be swapped out to serve the same purpose albeit in a different manner. The following suggestions are an outline and aren't exhaustive.

🔧 Mods 🔧

  • [Brief Respite] is our only source of survivability sans our various forms of crowd control. It can be replaced in lower level content or if you're utilizing outside sources of survivability.
  • [Primed Sure Footed] has some redundancy with Spellbind but it allows you to focus on the mission rather than strict ability upkeep. Either of these are mandatory in Razorwing builds to keep you from suffering a multitude of forced staggers when running into terrain so only replace this if you're able to keep your knockdown resistance up consistently.
  • Stretch and Overextended are flex mods if you're not using a subsumed ability that scales with Range.
  • [Primed Flow] is a flex mods if you're relying on smaller but consistent bursts of energy. Streamline is usually the call to replace it.
  • [Transient Fortitude], [Umbral Intensify], and other Strength mods can be swapped in and out but be careful with managing their speed boosting effects when paired with Razorwing Blitz.
  • [Razorwing Blitz] is a powerful mod when used correctly but it heavily relies on your ability to skillfully navigate tilesets at various ability Strength combinations. Spellbound Harvest and Beguiling Lantern are useful gimmicks but are heavily reliant on enemy positioning.

⚙️ Arcanes ⚙️

Arcane Energize synergizes with [Primed Flow] and keeps your energy topped off. It can be replaced if you have other strong forms of energy recovery either through abilities or other energy support frames. Offensive arcanes like Arcane Precision or Arcane Velocity are usually the call.

Arcane Avenger is easy to proc when in Razorwing as you simply need to grind your frame against a wall. It should be replaced if you aren't using Razorwing or the augment in any capacity. Tertiary defensive arcanes like Arcane Aegis or Arcane Guardian are usually the call.

📋 Final Notes 📋

Spellbind, Tribute, Lantern, and Razorwing all contain elements that aren't affected by mods. This can either be beneficial or detrimental depending on your stat distribution. Unfortunately it puts most builds in a position where they aren't making effective use of various ability stat investments but it also allows you to completely dump a stat with no penalties.

Lantern abides by several line of sight checks and some quirks with the enemy pathing that can allow it to be extremely effective or completely useless depending on the tileset and enemy density. It's far more effective when you and your allies are completely invisible as it will pull more aggro regardless of the circumstances.

Razorwing Blitz is a double-edged sword that can either be a massive boon to your movement speed or a complete detriment depending on your skill level and the makeup of the tileset. Increasing or decreasing Strength to suit your various needs is usually the call but if you're having issues with repositioning it may be more wise to just remove the mod altogether and focus on other forms of more manageable speed bonuses.
