Steel Path Statusizer Kuva Nukor

The Steel Path Statusizer [Kuva Nukor]

The [Kuva Nukor] is an amazing weapon that can slaughter enemies even at the highest levels, but that's not what this build is about. This build is for putting an insane number of status procs on Steel Path enemies so you can wreck them with a [Condition Overload] melee weapon. If you want a more standard [Kuva Nukor] build, check out my Nuk The World - Viral Heat Top DPS build.

The [Kuva Nukor]'s innate elements and chained beam mechanic allow you to quickly and reliably apply 5 separate status procs to enemies, something very few weapons in the game can do.

If you're looking for a Steel Path viable melee weapon build to pair with this, check out my Steel Path Shredder Guandao Prime. This [Kuva Nukor] build was made to be paired with this [Guandao Prime].

Status chance and fire rate over damage

The build focuses on status chance and fire rate over all other factors. Damage doesn't matter here; we're only after status procs. Multishot is ignored because it acts as a damage multiplier on beam weapons and doesn't increase the number beams or status procs. Fire rate, on the other hand, increases the rate at which status procs are applied by the weapon's beam.

Elements

It is important that you have a Magnetic [Kuva Nukor], so that means using [Harrow], [Hydroid], [Mag], [Mesa], or [Xaku] to farm Kuva Larvlings for the [Nukor]. Chosing a Magnetic Lich will give you the most status procs in the right priority order:

  1. Viral
  2. Heat
  3. Radiation
  4. Magnetic

This means that you will get the most Viral and Heat procs, which is exactly what you want because they will increase the damage done with your melee. You only need one Radiation and Magnetic proc to gain the benefits of [Condition Overload], and those procs are not as valuable as Viral and Heat so we want those to be low.

Where's the 5th element? You're right, I did say this gun will give you 5 status procs, but it isn't from an element. The [Nukor] causes a hidden invisible status proc called Microwave, which is what makes enemies "inflate" when you shoot them with the [Nukor]. You won't see the proc on the enemy's health bar, but it's there and it counts for [Condition Overload], giving you your 5th status proc.

Why a Magnetic Lich?

Yes, Magnetic damage on its own is pretty useless, but any other element we add here would interfere with the priority order of elements above, where we need Viral first and Heat second.

  • Cold or Toxin Lich will give extra Viral, but only 4 status procs instead of 5.
  • Heat Lich will add to the Heat, throwing off the priority of elements and leaving us with 4 status procs instead of 5.
  • Electric Lich will combine with Heat to create Radiation, which will add to the innate Radiation of the Nukor, leaving us with only 3 status procs instead of 5.
  • Radiation Lich adds to inate Radiation, leaving us with 4 procs instead of 5.
  • Impact Lich - You thought I forgot about Impact, didn't you? That's right, I did. Everyone did. Nobody ever wants an Impact Lich. But believe it or not, in this one instance Impact would totally work just fine. We're only after the status proc and an Impact proc will buff [Condition Overload] as well as Magnetic. This will, however, be pretty bad for any other builds you want to do on your Kuva Nukor.

Why the Deimos IPS/Status Chance mods? Why Gunslinger and Anemic Agility?

Adding up the two IPS/SC mods plus from Deimos plus 2 60/60 elemental mods plus [Sure Shot] gives you 215% status chance, which means that every "tick" of damage will do at least two, possibly three, status procs to every enemy the beam chains to.

[Anemic Agility] and [Gunslinger] make sure that you put out a ton of damage ticks in a super short period of time, with two+ status procs per tick, to whole clusters of enemies.

TL;DR: Why (this) instead of (that)?

  1. Magnetic Lich element lets you stack more status procs in the right order than any other Lich element.
  2. Using the 90/60 Deimos mods wastes the IPS on them, but we just need the 90% Status Chance. You can use any two out of [Carnis Stinger], [Jugulus Spines], and [Saxum Spittle]. Don't use [Saxum Spittle] if you (for some reason) went with Impact as your Lich Element over Magnetic.
  3. Using the 90% Heat mod makes it weighted #2 behind Viral, when the 60/60 Heat mod would put it #3 behind Radiation.
  4. Anemic and [Sure Shot] are better than [Lethal Torrent] and [Pressurized Magazine] because [Lethal Torrent] is less of a fire rate boost and multishot doesn't matter, and [Pressurized Magazine] is too conditional to be worth using over [Gunslinger].

Thanks for coming to my TEDTalk. Have fun bringing your [Nukor] to Steel Path!
