The Glaive Prime is a deadly and beautiful weapon from the Orokin era. The blades are as effective in close quarters as they are when thrown at distant enemies.

(OUTDATED) ULTIMATE VOLATILE QUICK RETURN GUIDE (THIS IS THE BUILD YOU'RE LOOKING FOR)

NEW, UPDATED BUILD(S):

https://overframe.gg/build/248896/glaive-prime/not-everything-needs-to-be-level-cap/

Before we start. First, this is NOT A HEAVY BUILD. Second, I strictly play the [Glaive] as a throw weapon. Third, the damage from this is from the explosion of [Volatile Quick Return]. Fourth, I play this with gladiator [Helios] (swap [Spoiled Strike] or Body Count for Gladiator's Might, if needed). Lastly, this is meant to be played in dual wield mode alongside a status-applying secondary.

So, here is my Ultimate Glaive setup that I made/use. This is a VERY strong build. In the simulacrum, I was able to hit a high of 32 million damage and a consistent 10+ million (with Warframe setup). Naturally, that won't be the exact same numbers you will be pulling mid-mission. However, that does not make this build/weapon any less powerful. This is THE strongest weapon I have ever tested in the simulacrum.

Let me go over why I chose the mods that I did:

CONDITION OVERLOAD was chosen 'cause this is played with a status-applying secondary. The best secondary for this is [Kuva Nukor] which applies three statuses with ease across multiple enemies. On top of that, if the explosion of the [Glaive] does not kill enemies (which it will), then it will 100% proc two extra statuses. Bringing the total of just those two build-based weapons to +600% damage. This does not include any extra status from frame abilities or other sources. Which also increase that number.

[Blood Rush] is chosen because of the critical chance bonus with the combo multiplier. Simple enough. Again, this is a combo build.

AMALGAM ORGAN SHATTER was chosen because we need critical damage AND the Glaive throw speed is affected by heavy attack wind-up. The quicker we can throw out the [Glaive] the better.

[Spoiled Strike] was chose because of the +100% damage (amazing) AND the [Glaive] throw speed is NOT affected by attack speed.

CORROSIVE DAMAGE SETUP was chosen because when it comes to weapons that you want to one-hit-kill, corrosive is usually the best option for this. Also, we're pairing this weapon with viral stacks from our secondary (more on that below). Before you ask, yes, I did try both viral and corrosive on both weapons. This is the best output.

[Body Count] was chosen because, as a throwing weapon, it can be a little difficult to keep up combo. Especially if you miss your throw. Why not [Drifting Contact]? Because, we don't need extra status on the [Glaive] itself. If you are running Naramon, swap this for [Primed Pressure Point].

[Volatile Quick Return]... you know why.

So, for secondary setup, the absolute best weapon for this is [Kuva Nukor]. If you do not have one then other good options are Nukor, Zakti Prime, basically anything that has high status that you can apply quickly AND that you can one-hand (so no [Pox]). You basically want to build them to apply statuses as fast as possible. So, multishot, firerate, +100% status, etc. With just a second of holding my Kuva Nukor, enemies get a full 10 stacks of viral (which is +325% extra health damage). This is MUCH better/stronger than having corrosive applied.

Pro Tip: You can now queue up [Glaive] throws! This is a very good thing to learn to do. However, if you're not careful, it can mess up your combo. Basically, if you hold E while it's still flying through the air, it will go ahead and queue your next throw. The best time to hold E is once you see the [Glaive]'s explosion OR the [Glaive] is on its way back to you. Pressing E before this will detonate it (i.e., heavy attack) causing you to lose your combo multiplier.

Common questions:

What can I swap for my riven mod? [Spoiled Strike] or [Body Count] (if using Naramon)

Why not [Killing Blow]? Does not affect explosion damage

Why not [Power Throw]? Does not affect explosion damage

Why not Gladiator's Might?
This is actually a good choice! Swap out [Spoiled Strike] or [Body Count] for it (depending on your setup). The reason I do not have it is because I use [Helios Prime] with the gladiator set.

Can I use [Organ Shatter] instead? Yes, you can. However, the throw will not be as quick. You would have diminishing returns.

Any other questions I will be happy to answer!

Also, if you're here from Facebook, thank you for being patient! <3
