The Heavy Slider | Gram Prime

Currently Being Revisited and Video Redone

Hello everyone,

My name is UltimoFive and today we are going over the [Gram Prime], The Heavy Slider.

Weapon Information

  • The [Gram Prime] is the Prime Version of [Gram] and was released alongside Rubico Prime and [Chroma Prime]. In order to obtain [Gram] Prime one must open a variety of relics that contain the Blueprint, Handle, and Blade in order to make it at the foundry.

  • Gram Prime requires a mastery rank of 14.

  • [Gram Prime] comes with 2 "V" Polarity Slots, plus "D" Stance Slot. Because of this, the builds on this weapon will require 2 forma.

  • The [Gram Prime] excels in medium to large crowd destruction, but can suffer with only a few enemies around depending on the level. High level it's okay, Low level it is not.

Comparison to Original

The Gram Prime has a few buffs when compared to the original Gram in different areas. These stats would be:

  • Higher Base Damage at 300.0 vs. 160.0

  • Higher Critical Chance at 32% vs. 15%

  • Higher Critical Multiplier at 2.6x vs. 2.0x

  • Higher Status Chance at 32% vs. 15%

  • The only nerf the prime received compared to the original is the Lower Attack Speed at 0.80 vs. 0.95

Advantages Vs. Disadvantages

Advantages:

  • High Base Damage at 300.0

  • Very High Critical Chance at 32%

  • Very High Critical Multiplier at 2.6x

  • Very High Status Chance at 32%

Disadvantages:

  • Low Impact (60.0) and Puncture Damage (15.0)

  • Slow Attack Speed at 0.80

Builds

Corpus: Up to level 145

The Element for the [Gram Prime] against the Corpus will be Toxin. Toxin deals 50% base damage per second over 6 seconds and stacks indefinitely with each instance having its own timer. The Build's Flex Slot is Berserker

Corrupted & Grineer: Up to level 145

The Element for the [Gram Prime] against the Corrupted and Grineer will be Slash. Slash's status effect is Bleed and after 1 second it deals 35% of the base damage per second for 6 seconds, which bypasses armor. The Build's Flex Slot is [Sacrificial Steel]

Infested: Up to level 145

The Element for the [Gram Prime] against the Infested will be Gas. Gas deals 50% base damage per second for 6 seconds in a 3 meter radius and stacks up to 10 times to a total of 6 meters. The Build's Flex Slot is Berserker

Non-Stacking: Up to level 145 (Looking Into)

The Elements for the Gram Prime with the Non-Stacking build will follow Toxin for Corpus, Viral for Corrupted and Grineer, and Corrosive for Infested. This build is for people who want to use the weapon for priming [Condition Overload] or those who don't like stacking for increased Critical Chance or Damage. Note this build is mainly for those reasons I have listed and that this weapon does perform well against high leveled enemies, even though it's sustained damage is 60,000 less.
(Note: Yes I know Slash mods don't increase slash proc damage, but it does increase the chance of slash procs alongside increasing normal damage.)

Recommended Alternative Mods

  • True Steel - In place of Sacrificial Steel if you don't have it.

  • Smite Grineer & Corrupted - In place of Primed Grineer & Corrupted if you don't have them.

  • Fever Strike - In place of Primed Fever Strike if you don't have it.

  • Amalgam Organ Shatter - In place of [Organ Shatter] if you use Heavy Attacks and are okay with losing 5% Critical Damage. This will however cost one more Forma in the Corpus, Corrupted, and Grineer Builds.

  • Gladiator Rush - For helping with Combo Duration If you don't have Naroman focus or can't handle the combo chain duration.

  • Drifting Contact - For helping with Combo Duration if you don't have Naroman focus or can't handle the combo chain duration.

  • Quickening - For helping with increased Combo Count Chance along with a slightly faster Attack Speed.

Non-Recommended Alternative Mods

  • Primed Fury - For my build at least, [Primed Fury] ends up lowering Average Hit Damage and only giving about a 3,700 Sustained DPS positive difference, which isn't worth it.

Synergy with Gram Prime

There are several ways to enhance Critical Stats and Damage for this weapon:

Damage:

  • Rhino's Roar adds bonus damage.

  • Valkyr's Warcry bolsters attack speed, in turn increasing DPS

  • [Nova]'s Molecular Prime makes all sources of damage increase by 100% against primed enemies, on top of that they will detonate upon death dealing blast damage.

  • Mirage's Eclipse mixed with her Hall of Mirrors adds a massive damage bonus during the day or in light.

  • Saryn's Toxic Lash mixed with her Spores abilities.

  • Equinox's Rest & Rage in Day Form makes targets more vulnerable to Damage.

  • Volt's Speed bolsters Attack Speed, in turn increasing DPS.

Critical Stats:

  • Harrow's Covenant can add up to 50% Critical Chance and 200% on headshots.

  • Adarza Kavat with Cat's Eye can give a 60% Critical Chance boost.

  • Smeeta Kavat with Charm can give a 200% Crit Chance.

Arcane Synergy

  • Arcane Fury - On Critical Hit, 60% chance for 180% Melee Damage to Melee Weapons for 18 seconds.

  • Arcane Blade Charger - On Primary Weapon Kill, 30% chance for 300% Melee Damage for 12 seconds.

  • Arcane Strike - On Hit, 15% chance for 60% Attack Speed to Melee Weapons for 18 seconds.

Riven Synergy

When you get your hands on a Riven for this weapon the Flex Slot to replace will be [Gladiator Might] and will only require 1 more Forma. In order to maximize Damage output with Gram Prime, one will need to get lucky and get some nice stats. These ideal stats would be:

  • Higher Average Damage - For Higher Average Damage the stats would be; Melee Damage, Critical Damage, Critical Chance, and Negative Finisher Damage or Negative Heavy Attack Efficiency if you don't like using Heavy Attacks.

  • Higher Sustained DPS - For Higher Sustained DPS the stats would be; Melee Damage, Critical Damage, Attack Speed, and Negative Finisher Damage or Negative Heavy Attack Efficiency if you don't like using Heavy Attacks.
